Cozumel resorts?

Anyone been to Cozumel or honeymooning there?

We're getting married in Playa Del Carmen, but we're going to skip over to Cozumel for the honeymoon (can't miss that diving!) I don't even know where to start looking... if my brief review of hotels it looks like tons of them are very geared towards diving (which is definitely good!) but I'd also like to make sure it's a good "honeymoon" hotel, too... i.e., right on the beach, and probably a little nicer than wherever we stay in PDC. Anyone have any recommendations?

We stayed a week in Cozumel at the Park Royal. It would rank it as average against a Dreams resort, but I will say I have only visited the Dreams resort on a site visit and not stayed over night. I think that if you really want the nice hotels you need to go to the Occidental or the Iberostar. They are the furthest from the airport but would be the nicest. I think the Presidential Cozumel would be the next step up. No matter where you stay though I think you will venture out to see different diving areas. Lots of divers stayed at the Park Royal and it has a great swim up bar and 2 infinity pools. Worth a look. Most of the Cozumel resorts do not have fabulous beachs, because the island is the reef the beaches are not as nice.

The island is a ton of fun and there is lots to keep you busy. There is a hotel across the street from the Money Bar. They have a great set up and service with snorkeling right off the beach there. I can't remember the name of the hotel thoughhuh.gif (sorry).

Good Luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
