Anyone been to Cozumel or honeymooning there?

We're getting married in Playa Del Carmen, but we're going to skip over to Cozumel for the honeymoon (can't miss that diving!) I don't even know where to start looking... if my brief review of hotels it looks like tons of them are very geared towards diving (which is definitely good!) but I'd also like to make sure it's a good "honeymoon" hotel, too... i.e., right on the beach, and probably a little nicer than wherever we stay in PDC. Anyone have any recommendations?

Let me know what you find, I was thinking of heading here too but have found so little info. Maybe it's not a big honeymoon spot? hmmm

We stayed a week in Cozumel at the Park Royal. It would rank it as average against a Dreams resort, but I will say I have only visited the Dreams resort on a site visit and not stayed over night. I think that if you really want the nice hotels you need to go to the Occidental or the Iberostar. They are the furthest from the airport but would be the nicest. I think the Presidential Cozumel would be the next step up. No matter where you stay though I think you will venture out to see different diving areas. Lots of divers stayed at the Park Royal and it has a great swim up bar and 2 infinity pools. Worth a look. Most of the Cozumel resorts do not have fabulous beachs, because the island is the reef the beaches are not as nice.

The island is a ton of fun and there is lots to keep you busy. There is a hotel across the street from the Money Bar. They have a great set up and service with snorkeling right off the beach there. I can't remember the name of the hotel though (sorry).

        Good Luck!
