Thank you to all of you at BDW for confirming my choice to have a DW!

Hi ladies,

I've been around for a couple months and have loved looking at all the fantastic wedding ideas you all provide.

In the beginning, I was unsure I wanted a destination wedding. The reason I considered and eventually agreed to it was because the cost to have a wedding here would just be too great if we wanted to make sure everyone was included.

I attended a wedding last weekend and while it was beautiful, I thought to myself ... I am SO glad I am not doing this!!!

I think if I hadn't found this website, I'd still be feeling down about not getting married here in front of all our family and friends and would not have a clue about where to start in terms of planning.

Now, with the help of all of you, I have a million ideas swirling around and so many things I want to do!!

So, thank you, thank you, thank you to each and every one of you who have confirmed my (....our!) decision to have a DW, and especially to Tammy for running the show!

Now, if I could just actually decide on the resort.......

Angela :)

Angela - I know exactly what you mean! Since our DW I have not felt that any of the traditional weddings that I have been to have been nearly as magical as ours was. Of course, I am 100% biased, but it is such a different vibe at a DW!

Good Luck with picking your resort! Luckily you are starting your planning early enough that you can do plenty of research to narrow down your options.

DH and I narrowed down to the country ... then resort town ... then to our top 5 resorts, and then picked our top two from that. It was a LONG process, but worth it!

We ended up with our DW at the more affordable of the top two choices, and our HM at the more expensive. It was perfect!

We have it narrowed down to Cabo and are trying to decide between the Riu Palace and Dreams. We have written down every pro and con of each, talked to each other and many others to get their take. The Riu seems to fit with our group better however, I love the way Dreams look and they seem to have less rules than the Riu. Just lately, I have been looking into other places so maybe our destination will change. Regardless, I need to know by the end of July because that is the absolute latest I want the STDs to go out.

Thanks for your input! I'll post whenever we fiiiinnnnnalllly make a decision!

Angela

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
