Sunquest cancels flights to Mexico until June

Recommended Posts

I know Kara posted about her wedding being cancelled because of this issue but i did not want to hijack her thread.

Travel Advisory for Mexico

April 28, 2009

We appreciate that our customers are concerned about travelling to Mexico at this time due to the cases of Human Swine Influenza. The Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, and the Public Health Agency of Canada, have now issued a travel warning against all non-essential travel to Mexico. Therefore, Sunquest has taken the decision to not operate our programs to Mexico, effective immediately, however at present we plan to resume our operations after June 4, 2009.

The following policy will apply to all Sunquest Mexico bookings between April 28 and June 4:

For those passengers departing from now to June 4, 2009 (inclusive):

You may change your booking to any other Sunquest destination, including the ALBATours Italy program, for travel anytime up to Oct. 31, 2009;

You can cancel your booking and receive a travel credit for the amount, which must be used before Oct. 31, 2009 to any destination Sunquest or ALBA offers.(Due to availability of programs, Dec. 15 for Western Canada, Atlantic Canada passengers will also be given extensions);

You must pay any price difference if the cost is higher;

There will be no refund for any difference in rates if the cost is lower;

Travel must be commenced by the end of October 31, 2009;

These changes must be made through our call centres

We recommend that customers also check with their travel insurers, as you may have coverage for this type of incident.

We will continue to monitor this situation and will keep you advised. We would ask those who are travelling on later departure dates to be patient as this situation evolves.

Please note, we will continue to operate our flights to collect all passengers currently in Mexico. We will advise if there are any changes by our airline partners.

Thank you,

    • You might consider underground studio Puerto Vallarta. They are a young coupe doing an excellent Job at affordable rates.
    • Thanks for answering Patty! We are having the legal proceedings done in December so february is the celebration. We will have pictures first then a ceremony with a religious discourse and then have the reception.  I'm guessing we will be 50 people, give or take. Half of them are Canadian. They will need accommodations but if we have the wedding ag a resort I dont want them to be forced into staying there if they dont want to.
    • Hello Everyone! Thank you for sharing your experience about Tom Moks. We have read it very careful before we booked. But at the end of the day we were very happy with his service. I consider myself as a difficult customer but this time everything went just smooth. We had our wedding in Sayulita, close to Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco. He came on time, he stayed with us late night.  After all we had to wait like 3weeks to receive the pictures, but we LOVED them. He sent us more pictures that he promises in the contract, and in 85% they were perfect.  The other 15% we asked him to edit once more, and he did it, without hesitation. This is his official Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/tom_moks_photography/  Personally I would buy his service again, but the decision is always yours. E.
    • Hello!  We are getting married at El Dorado Royale in August 2019.  We are trying to decide between La Salon Royale and Los Tucanes for the reception. I vastly prefer Tucanes but I’m worried everyone will be hot and miserable since I’ve been told it doesn’t have AC. Does anyone have experience with either location? If Tucanes, is there a way to get fans or cool it down? If La Salon, I’d love tips on how to decorate inexpensively so that it doesn’t look so “ballroom”-y. Thank you very much!
