It happened to me! Guest ignoring *lack* of "and family" on the invite

Yes, we did not specify "Adult reception and Ceremony" on the invites because we felt that to do so would be rude. We also wrongly assumed that everyone on our guest list was aware of invitation etiquette - that is, if a name isn't called out on the invite, they are not invited. I mean, it's a pretty basic rule that I never thought anyone would misunderstand.

 

At the end of the day, though, it isn't that big of a deal. My only concern is about the ceremony and reception - I've already let the offending guest know that the kids are welcome at all other wedding-related events - just not the ceremony and reception.

 

If I had to do it all again, I still would not specify "adults only" on my invites - IMO, to do so would have been worse than handling the one-of situations like this that occur from mis-understanding invitation etiquette. The only thing I would do differently is put this info on the website upfront. At this point, I don't want to update the website with "adult only", since it might make my friend feel bad (eg, they might get the impression that the website was updated and directed at them)

 

I consider this issue handled. for the moment. :-)

      Cabo Azul Wedding Cost / Review

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!

      Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else.
