woot.gif Hey Everyone!

I'm so glad I found you guys, this place looks like it's going to be a blast!

I'm Laura. I've been with my fiancee for almost 6 years and we've been engaged since August 2006.

We are planning a wedding for July 2008 (i will be graduating with my bachelors in December so we want to be "settled" before we marry)! It will be just the two of us marrying away and then we'll come home and have a very laid back "after wedding celebration".

As of now, some people know, others do not. We will tell anyone what are plans are if they ask, so it's not a secret but it's not an announcement! rofl.gif

It's pretty stress free this way!! We really don't need much for the actual ceremony away. If you don't mind, here is what is done so far::

Colors::

not really necessary but my engagement ring is a pink sapphire, so i will be wearing pink accents. Other than that just bright tropical colors!

Location::

We decided on Antigua. Our goal is to talk to a Travel Agent and get things booked by the end of this summer.

Boquet::

A silk boquet. The flowers i loved were being discontinued so I put my order in now, the maker tells me it will keep very well until 2008!

Bout/hair flower::

ordered with boquet.

Garter::

bought and is being made. My fiancee is in the airforce so i thought this was cute and appropriate!

Dress::

The hardest part of it all! I'm so undecided (thankfully i have plenty of time). This is where i'll probably need some assistance from you gals!

As for the after wedding party, we still have all the work to do with that. I need to talk to family to see if we can have a cook out at my mom's (big house/yard) if not we'll have to find somewhere. It will be tropical/beach themed. I hope to wear my dress (if i ever decide on one) and to be able to show pictures from our wedding/honeymoon.

Thanks Girls!! Can't wait to get to know you all!

Thanks Heidi!

With my fiancee being in the military he's gone A LOT, so we do planning in spurts. I just like to surf around and get ideas, it's fun!

We'll get married at an all-inclusive resort, that way everything for the week is paid for up front.

Holy cow Laura - you're probably our most organized "newbie" ever! That was like a well performed sales pitch! lol. I LOVE that bouquet, that's exactly what I want mine to look like! Seriously, you've got everything on the right track... you might be helping us more than the other way around!

Welcome to the forum! :) I love to have enthusiastic, fun people like you join - in no time you'll be just as addicted as the rest of us!!!

You guys are too funny!! I'm glad i found ya!

Here are a few pictures of my wedding set, he worked with an online company while he was in Iraq to have it custom made. It has a lot of detail put into it so i will try to describe it the best i can.

DON'T MIND MY PHOTSHOOT! (i could just blame it on my relatives in other states that wanted to see it, but that would be a lie, haha)

Princess cut pink sapphire and princess cut diamond side stones.

Those are all tiny round diamonds going down the sides of the bands::

You can kind of see the two larger side diamonds next to the center stone are set in yellow gold, where the rest of the ring is in white :::

You can see it kind of on the side of the band here, both sides of the band and engagement ring have that pretty detailing::

It's really hard to capture it on camera, sorry! You have to see it up close to see all the detailing. It really is beautiful in person, he did a great job!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
