I've been to a wedding at Hibiscus Lodge--the food at the reception was EXCELLENT! The staff did an excellent job. Receptions are held in a room adjacent to the hotel. I am considering The Ruins as a location for my wedding just because of the beautiful waterfall and scenery. If you go on Trip Advisor.com you can search both Hibiscus Lodge and the Ruins for pictures of weddings. Good Luck.

my in laws stayed at shaw park this past feb...not for a wedding though. They said they loved the feel of the small resort and every room faced the ocean and the staff was very friendly. there even planning on going back after our wedding in jan to stay for another week, so that must say something.

Is that Shaw Park hotel or Shaw Park itself? My fiance and I checked out both and to me the park was a little run down. The hotel showed us 1 room but it was the only room available at the time. They were full. I was impressed till I saw the room. It was not nice at all. Everything looked outdated. The front desk clerk was babysitting because the babysitter hadn't arrived yet. I changed my mind quickly about both places.

We looked at the Ruins for our wedding, but the food was soo gross and the place seemed a little run down. From the pictures, all you can see is beautiful waterfall, but when you go there in person you see all the other stuff which does not look good. I've been to Hibiscus Lodge several times for vacation so it was my first pick for my wedding, but I just wanted to try to be a little objective and look at some other places. Needless to say, I think we chose the right spot for our wedding. In less than 3 weeks we'll surely find out.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
