If anyone has done or is currently planning a smaller wedding say 10-20 people. I would like to know how ther semi private dinner/reception was and if there was an additional cost for it if you did the free wedding package.

Im planning a wedding for 25 people and doing a semi-private dinner at the Surf and Turf restaurant. I chose the most basic menu from the options given, which is the steak and lobster dinner. There is no additionall cost for the semi-private reception. You are limited to two basic dinner times 6:30pm and 8:30pm.  If you have less than 15 people in your party, the members of your party can order off the menu. If you have more than 15 people you have to pick one menu for everyone, kinda sucks, but it'll save you 3k. Ive asked if I could pay for a private dinner on the beach and 30 seems to be the magic number for certain wedding options.

Hello All-

I had a question about booking rooms at the hotel for your guests.  I am getting married at the Iberostar Grand Jamaica in February 2013.  We booked the wedding but they mentioned that in order to hold rooms you need to use a travel agent.  After speaking to a travel agent, the prices she found were really pricey.  I looked on Orbitz and it was 1/2 the cost.  Can guests just book on their own and request rooms near us or do we all need to book through an agent?

Hi Iberostar brides!

My husband and I got married a couple of weeks ago at the El Dorado Royale in Riviera Maya, Mexico. At the end of our stay, the resort gave us a coupon book that is good to use on different resort ammenities for up to a year in case we make a trip back soon. For any brides that have already gotten married at the Grand this year, does the Grand do anything similar?

If so and you already know for sure that you will not be using them, would anyone mind passing their coupons off to us if you arent going to use them? angel1.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
