Its Official!! I am going to be a Sandals Negril Bride

Recommended Posts

Thank you everyone!! I am still so excited - I know this excitement is going to last for the whole entire year - I won't know what to do when the wedding is over!?!

Any other Sandal Negril brides out there - I just wanted to let you know that that were having a sale - I know they always have sales, but this one actually saved us and all of our guests a few hundred dollars!! Yay! There is another benefit for booking the resort so early, we can be sure that we get the best deals possible. Happy planning everyone!

We are getting married in June2010 at Sandals Negril also. We booked the HM Luxe. We are getting married at 11am b/c it is less likely to rain then. I have also thought about getting back in the wedding attire around sunset and having a friend do some pics then. Good Luck with your planning.

For those of you having a Sandals wedding- please keep in mind that if your guests stay at Beaches they will have to pay for both transportation and for a day pass to visit Sandals. You (if you booked direct or with a company such as Orbitz) or your travel agent will need to provide a complete guest list and get permission for them to come over on the day of your wedding ! If there are too many people already on property and this isn't done there is the possibility of your guets being turned away.

There were so many Beaches guests going to Sandals that they had to change the policy as Sandals negril isn't that large and the guests who booked there were feeling crowded!

Jamaican_Smile - Personally I think the best location at Sandals Negril is right on the beach near where the River Suites are ! It's a beautiful beach with nice soft sand and typically by late afternoon (say 2pm onward ) most of the sunbathers will be all sunned out! The next best location ( especially if you plan on wearing heals!) is in one of the beachfront wedding gazebos. But if you want the utmost in privacy the garden gazebo is tucked away and only people walking to their rooms or to the spa will be going by!

I would also only recommend Sandy Bay if your guests like smaller properties and are on a very tight budget. The property just doesn't really compare to Sandals Negril or Beaches Negril and you will have more kids underfoot as the childrens facilities are more limited, as is the pool area.

Congrats on getting your date! I just came back from Jamaica...I was on a resort-hunting trip for my daughter's wedding in 2010. I absolutely love Sandal's Negril...it is perfect for my daughter. I would classify it as "casual luxury". I loved the suites that are a walk out into the pool and the beach is right there. However, if you are looking for privacy in your pool area without ocean front, there are some really nice suites that have their own pools, gardens, private dining areas, etc. My personal preference is the ones that walk into the pool and are beachfront but I am picky about being beachfront.

The staff there are absolutely awesome...my daughter and I walked in without any appointment and the manager there spent so much time with us showing us around. It was quite the experience! I told him that we were not leaning towards Sandals due to the seemingly "inflexibility" by the corporate office. But Jeffery at Sandals' Negril changed my mind. He is awesome... The property is gorgeous and I am so excited that we are moving forward on setting a date for my daughter's wedding!

good luck and let me know if you have any other questions about the resort...we had a great tour. I have videos but not sure how to share them : ).

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
