Hi Lauren (and other MDC ladies!),

I'm new to this forum and this is my first post! I've been reading all about your experiences, and am getting so excited for my wedding on 10-10-10!

Lauren (and anyone else who would be willing to send me their favorite MDC wedding photos), I'd love to see what you did for decorating the gazebo ceremony and your reception. I'm about 3 months away from the big day and would love ideas from people who have already been there and done that!

My email is: [email protected]

Thank you!

I am bizzaacckkkkkk and can I just say my wedding was AMAZINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG.... everything was top top notch. I am just repasting my tripadvisor review here because I am super lazy lol to retype it. Any questions concerning my vendors feel free to email me for more information. I cannot shout out my event designers/planners enough. Donna and Janice from TiannaVivienne.com (based in NYC) who helped me with the design and look of my wedding and everything else. It came out amazingly beautiful. Tai Flora supplied all my floral and chivari chairs. Also, my cake maker, Noida Cooke (out of Mo'Bay) the best cake I have ever had. I had 3 different flavors and it looked beautiful. I dont think I can post images on here but i just tried pasting some wedding teasers on word and hopefully you can see them (they are small). These are from my photographer Elton Anderson (based out of Miami). We also got fire dancers. Everyone I mentioned here gets an A+++. Ok review of Moon Dance starts below. SO brides you have nothing to worry about really. It will go absolutely beautiful. xoxo

[email protected] for more questions.

I really don't even know where to start, but my wedding which was on July 10, 2010 was the best wedding I have ever attended and I am a wedding photographer. Moon Dance went above and beyond our expectations to make our time with them seamless.

Once we arrived at the airport, our driver Phillip was there to welcome us with a friendly face. We were then welcomed to the resort with cold towels and the best rum punch I have ever had.

Richard who is the assistant manager is fantastic. I have been to Negril before and several other countries/resorts but the service, friendliness and joyfulness we received from Richard was like none other. He needs a double raise. I miss his jokes already. He made sure we and all our guests were taken care of and they didn't need or want anything.

Ryan the event director was like one of us. He got along and blended with us so well. He even called us after we snorkeling when we were running late to check on us and make sure everything was ok. Now who does that?? I mean we felt not only like celebrities but ALIST celebrities and this was not just me and the groom but our whole wedding guests. He supplied us with an abundance of food and event/activity setup.

Their food is amazing by the way. I miss festivals and plantains and I am having a dirty banana drink withdrawal. Shoutout to Sasha who makes a wicked mix and the sports bar manager (forgotten his name).

LaShorn our butler was beyond amazing, she took her role extremely seriously and I was so overwhelmed by how happy she was to serve us and with a smile on her face all the time. Including on her birthday. She knew exactly what we needed and had it covered before we could ask for it.

Our rooms were massive and clean ALL THE TIME. Before you could snap your fingers, everything was tidied. They also arranged the most romantic surprise for us on our wedding night!! wink.gif.

Kerry our wedding coordinator was fantastic well and had everything all under control and I had absolutely nothing to worry about when I got there. She had it all covered.

To wrap it up I would recommend Moon Dance Cliffs to anyone who wants a relaxing vacation and to be catered too. I plan on returning on my one year anniversary and will probably never go to any other resort except Moon Dance anytime I visit Jamaica. Additionally, its gonna be hard for me to stay anywhere else that isn't exactly like moon dance. They are the best resort ever, just like a slice of heaven :). My wedding guests didn't want to leave either.

dazzliing4,

Oh my gosh your wedding looks like it was so beautiful! Now I've got to ask you a ton of questions :) Did Tai Flora supply your rose petals down the aisle? How many did you order? Also, you said your chivari chairs were from Tai Flora, is that different than the $10 ones MDC offers? Also did you use a DJ and/or steel band? Did you get to meet the officiant the day before to try and get to know him a little bit? and of course, how was the food and what did you have at your receptionhuh.gif Thanks in advance!

:) Meitra

Lauren,

Thank you again for emailing me your pics! I have just one question for you: Where did you have your rehearsal dinner?

Thanks,
Nicky

No problem Nicky!

We had our rehearsal dinner at Ivan's at Catch a Falling Star resort. Their prices were very reasonable, they were able to work with us on specific menu choices and drink menus and the place was SO CUTE and the food was tasty!! They even provided transportation for everyone and it's just right down the road. I would highly recommend them. They were very available by email throughout our planning which also put us at ease.

Let me know if you have any more Qs.

Lauren

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
