Moon Dance Cliffs - Incomplete Resort

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone! I am considering having my wedding at the Moon Dance Cliffs Resort in Negril. This resort is currently incomplete since it is brand new (translation - pool was a dug out hole one month ago). The good news is that this is bascially a new section of an existing and well run property (Moon Dance Villas).

My wedding would be almost a year from this point - what do you think? The set up is pretty much exactly what we are looking for. Since it is not yet complete we can also probably negotiate a good deal.

Is this a crazy idea? Anyone else look at this place?

I actually did a walk through back in October. We booked almost the entire resort for next December. If you book during the grand opening special, they won't give you any further discount (since it is already 35% off). I know they give 10% off if you book the entire Moon Dance Villas so I would assume they would do the same at the Cliffs; that is if you are not planning on booking during the grand opening. Based on what I saw 3 months ago, and on pictures that I have seen from a bride that got married at the end of NOV they will be finished by Feb 2009, March at the lastest for final touches. The progress they made from the time that we were there the first week in OCT to her wedding at the end of NOV was AMAZING! When she was there only the Villas were totally complete and the pool and bar was in working order. Next year I feel like all of the plants will have grown in and will look great. Don't stress about it not being done by then! It's so far away! Let me know if you decide to also book with Moon Dance!!!

Hi Sparles8300,

Congrats. Do you have any photos of the Moon Dance Cliffs you can share? My fiance and I are getting married in April 18 at the Moon Dance Cliffs and wanted to know what the progress was with the construction. We have rented out the entire resort for 2 days but wanted to make sure that all rooms would be completed.

I am getting married at Moon Dance Villas, and although I haven't had the privilege to view the cliffs, the villas are spectacular and the service is top notch so I wouldn't worry much about the cliffs. If they said it will be finished, I guarantee it will. Miriam and Kim at the Moondance villas office are great! I can't wait until my wedding comes in June.

I am so glad I found this board! Thanks to everyone (and Sparkles in a big way) of sharing info and getting me comfortable. I'm very excited. Have not booked it yet as I'm waiting on a few answers from Miriam, but very close. I think the place is going to be really amazing when it is all done! The layout screams "GOOD TIME"!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
