A few years ago I worked a wedding where they had sparklers. It was an inside event at some winery...can't remember the name. Note the couple didn't tell any of the staff working that they had sparklers, they had a family member hand them out.

Well when the couple went to cut their cake, guests had lit sparklers. The sparklers became very very smokey and the whole room filled with smoke setting off the fire alarm. Everyone began to panic and running out of the place. My boss and I were on the floor crawling to the door. Fire department came and some guests just left.

That's my weird story.

My sister used sparklers in her wedding 2 years ago and I loved them.  Now my fiance and I were talking about using the little 8 inch sparklers--they're really cheap.  But he disagreed with me, and thought that someghing llonger would be better, so people wouldn't have problems lighting and relighting more sparklers.  My sister found some stuff on the Skylighter site about how to use sparklers in weddings.Any idea?? Please help.

I would also like to use sparklers at my wedding.  At the end of my reception I am going to have fire dancers.  I think I might use the sparklers right after the fire dancers.   I'm not sure yet.....

So far the websites I looked at do not ship out of the US.  Does anyone know where to order them in Mexico?  The wedding planner at the resort said that she has them for $5 a person.  Does that price seem right?

Yup, I know all about this one!  I packed them after spending hours making my own DIY tags for them and they never made it to Mexico.  They called for me over the PA at the airport before we boarded, took me inside a little room while I watched them open my luggage.  They took the sparklers but were very nice about the whole thing even offering to let me remove the tags so I could buy new sparklers once we got to Mexico.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
