Hi,

We are having our wedding diner at the Carribean restaurant because yes it was an extra on the terrasse...  We choose instead to have the reception on the terrasse for 3 hours after diner which is an extra as well.  Keep in mind that you can negociate the price that Ana will give you.  The carribean restaurant has an open area so it seams to be nice huh.gif

I am bringing my own decoration...  bows for the chair and for diner table as well.  There was way too many extras for everything...  and I didnt ask, but I am not paying for Ana to set everything.  If she doesnt want to do it for the fees we are all ready paying for the rest, I will do it with my bridesmaid...  but I really think it shouldnt be a problem...  I think she has an asistant as well...  Ana seams to be a very nice and understandable person.  I dont worry too much about her service since everybody said she was amazing!

I've been told that it is better to negociate as much before leaving since there your kind of on the spot couple days before the wedding...

I manage to lower most of her price...  and she even found me a free option for the flower since I didnt really like the ones she was showing me at first.

It surely depend on what package you are choosing but even for inclusion there is always some extra if you want something different or more.  I have a package from Transat so I am not sure what are the package offered by the hotel.

For the cake...  to me it is a detail.  I have no clue when and where.  But dont forget that Ana will be there to make sure everything is going well so I wouldnt worried about that onless you wanted to do something different ....?  I also think she will direct the guest and make sure everybody knows whats going on.  Plus, you will meet with her the day after your arrival so she will explain to you everything and you can do a rehersal diner and tell your guest then...  Apparently she will follow us every minute the wedding day and make sure everything is ok.

...  Enjoy your planning, it seams a lot but it is so much fun to do!  I will surely miss it after the wedding

Hey Nadia!

My goodness, I see why you are stressed! So since it is not the same Maggie...that means there will be 3 weddind there that week for sure. We are having a big wedding we are now ar 65 people total and it awesome but scary at the same time. To be honest, not sure if i have everything ready, or what i really need to get ready. I feel af the days get closer i am for sure getting more worried about waht i have forgotten to do, however, excited because i am sure it will all turn out anyway, and a little hard due to me doing most of the planning, I towork full time, however, i have no little ones. We meet with the marriage commissioner today as Daniel does not want to do the blood tests and junk in Mexico. We will be acyually married on Novemeber 6 the day before we fly out! So we are also planing that ltiile wedding here and the dinner. Where are you staying on the second week? We are staying at the Elderodo Royal.

I am not sure the Count down...I know that sounds still, but it makes me more worried about everything i need to get done. Haha so funny, my colours are ivory, red and a bit of chocolate brown. No we are taking no decorations with us. I am sure it will be perfect with out that. We are bring a little someting for welcome bags, however, that is about it. We were thinging abouth doing a candy bar...but not sure yet...that just make for more work and planning, and packing. I believe we are having the menu two...beef wellington. you? Well we were planning to have it on the terasse, however, I want to make sure because it is outside we will not be charge the $27 per person charge for a out door reception, so since Ana still take a lifetime to reply to your emails, we are not sure what we will be doing. I know i sound a little grumpy about that and it is because I am. My dress is strapless and more of a full bottom without the stuff making it big...I am not sure if i am in love with my dress anymore and it it way too late now to do anything about it. I am trying to look at it and tell myself i like it! I guess you will see it when i see you there, What does yours look like? it is pretty exciting!!!Yay!

I too am excited to meet you both. Hope all your planning goes well!:)

Michelle

Michelle,

I see that you are doing the non-legal or symbolic cermony in Mexico, that is what i am doing also! If you don't mind my asking, did or do you know if Ana is going to give you a "break" on the cost of the wedding package since you don't need the marriage license & legal fee's?

Thanks- I can't wait hear to hear AWESOME your wedding is! Not too much longer, right?

Hi Jessica,

My wedding is on November 10th and we have 19 adults and 4 child...  Only 18 days before my departure!!!

...and for the wedding license and legal fees... they are not includ in the package It is an extra $1000 US just for the fees for us ! sad.gif

There is some places you can safe a little, but at the end it happens only once in a life time and you still want it your way...  just make a list of your priorities I guess.

Michelle,

Still havent received my checklist...  Ana was supposed to send it yesterday.  Did you get yours?  Hopefully today.  It will make me fell better when I'll know I have most of it done...

My exams are on tuesday, ... than I ll be FREE!

I found another idea for the welcome bags.  I printed 2 local receipe ( Sopa de lima & Motulenos Huevos) with a description of some of the local food like quesedilla, ... for those that never been plus some of my people dont speak much english and I also printed the information about the Jungle Spa...  apparently it is something amazing.  Found it on Trip advisor by taping activities in Puerto Morelos.

If you have more ideas let me know :)

Hey Jessica, we are getting married the day before we go. To answer your question...this is ana's response...

If you have the non legal wedding, the wedding package will cost the same because we have to pay the external minister, unless you bring your own minister I will give you 200 usd if you bring your own.

so we are bringing our own...who happens to be Daniels Aunt...now we will get $200.00 back!

I am so excited...i cant believe it is almost here!:) November 11!

Hope that helps you!

Good luck with your planning!

    • we ended up using Facebook messenger when we were in Mexico - the hotel had free wifi and at least 1 person from each family/couple had FB on their phone already - it was pretty easy to communicate among guests "hey, we're heading to the beach bbq for lunch." or "everyone is hanging at the small pool today".  a plus was that some people tried to get a hold of me via FB on the day of the wedding and I was totally not checking my phone - they were asking if the wedding was outside given the rain forecast, thankful my mom, MOH and a few other friends were on the group and could respond for me :)

    • Hi Everyone, So, I was cleaning out my closet and realized that I never sold off my extra wedding OOT bag stuff from our wonderful DW.   46 Daily Spanish for Dummies 30 Pool colored OOT fabric bags - approximately 13in x 13in. They lay flat.  I used them for our wedding and they were perfect for everything we needed to fit in each bag. There’s a slight shade variation in the group; I’m guessing some were cut from a different bolt of fabric.  They are also a little wrinkled from storage and will probably be wrinkled from shipping. I have three additional ones, but they somehow got something on them (likely toddler related). If needed, I can try to wash it out and send those as well.
    • I’m getting married in six months to my foreign girlfriend. I was advised by a friend that one of the things I need to do before saying I do is to get a prenuptial agreement. Basically it’s supposed to protect my assets and properties in case my relationship with my future wife goes down the drain. I don’t know though if this is an acceptable practice when marrying Kiev ladies. I don’t want to do it if it would be insulting on her end. I need advice on this. Please help me.
