Wording for Invite after guest tentiative RSVP not attending?

Recommended Posts

I sent out STD's with a tentiative RSVP card to get an idea of who was planning to attend.

Now I am getting ready to send the formal invites/final RSVP. I was still going to mail invites to those who can't come because I don't want them to feel left out. I wanted to include a note to those that RSVP'd not attending.

I was thinking of something along the lines of:

Thank you for your tentative RSVP to our Save the Date. We know you are unable to attend the wedding, but we wanted to send you a formal invitation so that you know you will are in our thoughts!

Especially for grandparents, family in Germany, I want them to feel included in getting an invite, but know that we don't expect them to attend. Trying to find an eloquent way to say this. But I wasn't really sure about it. Any suggestions please?

You could always just send them an invitation along with your other guests, and they can just RSVP "no" again officially. That way they are officially invited and it leaves it open to the fact that they tentatively said no right away, but their plans could have changed. Your family might want to save your invitation as a keep sake as well!

I don't really think you need to explain why you are sending them an invite.

You can always word your invites as more of an announcement:

"Hanna and Josh will be joined in marriage..."

instead of "The honor of your presence is requested..."

Then, you can choose to include an RSVP card or not.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
