I am wanting to do the BP invites but not sure if I can do them on my own. I feel I'm decently savvy with the computer but have had a few problems with the template I'm working with. My question is: Is it worth doing it yourself to save a few bucks or just pay for it to be done? Approximately how many BP's have you made and the cost? HELP!! smile105.gif

Hey there! I did over 300 boarding passes. I just posted some info about how I went about it under Jennifer's "Best Tips" thread. You can see how mine turned out if you click on my .pdf in her thread.

I saved a lot of money, because to do that many professional invites would have cost me a lot more, and they wouldn't have provided nearly as much information as mine did with the three passes I connected together. I had 325 3-card passes printed on 110 lb. cardstock at Staples for about $290, and got 350 ivory linen envelopes for another $35. The color prints on cardstock were 89 cents each.

The worst part was cutting out a total of 975 cards!!! I had a little party of friends who volunteered to help. Not many people do as many as I did, so I think it could be pretty easy once you get the hang of moving things around in the template. I was really surprised to find that all of my guests thought that I'd had mine professionally made. They were so impressed that I'd done my own design, and I think having them printed on a high-quality professional printer made them look like the real deal.

Good luck and let me know if you have any questions!

Making your own boarding pass invites is certainly a labor of love. It takes time to perfect it, just the way you like it, and lots of time cutting and putting it all together. That being said, it is so rewarding to see the final product and an even a better feeling hearing how much your guests loved receiving them! hug2.gif

If you have the time and patience, I say go for it! punk.gif Plus with the help of some wonderful templates provided here on the forum, the time spent on the creative process is already cut in half.

I've included a price break down in my STD boarding pass thread below, including the places where I bought the items. I found making them myself to be extremely affordable. Hope this helps, and good luck!! Let us know what you decide cheesy.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
