A Vailed Proposal

Recommended Posts

Hi All!

I found this awesome forum by trying to get more information about Dreams Los Cabos. I am so happy I found you all, what a resource of information!

Anyway, so my fiance Evan and I are 23, live in Dallas TX and have been dating for 4 years. We had talked about getting married so he at least knew what my answer would be. Lucky him!

He planned a weekend trip for our 4 year anniversary (September 5) to Vail CO. On the first night we were there he kept rushing me to get ready and wouldn't tell me what our plans for the evening were. Since it was our anniversary, I knew he had something planned. I'm not going to lie and say that a proposal didn't cross my mind. (It always did - haha). I even texted my best friend and told her Evan was acting strange.

We drive up the moutain to the stables at a resort and prepare with about 4 other couple all celebrating like their 30 or 50 wedding anniversaries.... ya, I knew it was going t obe a special night. We take a sunset trial ride up the mountian to this beautiful moutain restaurant called Beano's Cabin. Gorgeous!!!!!!!! We were outside having a drink, chatting with the other couples when Evan decides to pull our chairs to one corner of the patio away from everyone. OK I thought he just wants to be alone. THAN he stands up in front of me.... for 10 mins! I told him he was acting distracted and told him to sit down when he took this huge breath and got down on one knee. I hadn't realized it but he had been waiting for the patio to empty so we could have some privacy. He started telling me how we had been together for 4 years today and I meant more than anythign to him and how he loved me. Than a LLLLLLLLLOOOOOOONNNNGGG pause. It was so strange because he was looking at me waiting for an answer and I was waiting for THE QUESTION. Finaly he figured it out and blurted out, "Will you marry me" I of course said yes and jumped on him. The waiter came out with champagn and we just started freaking out. Well for me that includes a lot of "happy crying" haha

AHHHHH!!! So now we are engaged. Our parents are happy for us and our friends are thrilled as well. We 're planning a wedding in Cabo hopefully July 09. I'm still trying to confirm a date. AHH which is driving me crazy. I have to have it on a thurs or sat (after sunset) because we're Jewish and can be married on Shabbat (which starts friday at sundown until saturday sunset). Don't even get me started on the complications of trying to plan a Jewish wedding in Mexico. I was having certain doubts about Dreams Resort but after reading so much and seeing so many beautiful pictures I"m convinced. I just told Evan I wanted to book it as soon as we figured out a good date. So Dream Brides, Let me know how everything is working out for you!

I really look forward to learning more about all of you and seeing how wonderful your weddings turn out!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
