Hi everyone.....

We just scrapped our big wedding plans, the families were making us INSANE. We are blasting ahead toward sometime in DEC. for the wedding...hoping to do the Ritz in Kapalua. Does anyone have advice? is it a bad idea to go with the hotel packages? Thanks so much.

I know the feeling...we scrapped our big wedding plans for a small wedding (10pp).

We aren't doing a package with a hotel but I've heard good things. I looked into the Kannapalani Beach Hotel, Hyatt and a few other hotels. The WC were nice, new all of the details, etc.

I did hear the other day that hotels are offering great packages in Hawaii as tourism has dropped about 25%. Some hotels may offer specials depending on your size.

Good Luck

we stayed at the Ka'anapali Beach Hotel, but did our wedding through a seperate WC. There are several nice places at the hotel to get married, but just know that lots of families stay there (lots of kids running around). Also, that part of Ka'anapali Beach is pretty crowded, so I'd opt for an earlier morning or sunset ceremony if doing so on the beach.

Welcome to the forum!!! I did a lot of research on Mexico and the Caribbean, and a little on Hawaii. It seems to me that you can get a whole lot more for your money in Mexico, but that's just what I've discovered in researching the more "luxury" resorts. The Caribbean also seemed less expensive than Hawaii. But, Hawaii is pretty much perfect year-round as far as weather is concerned, so it's an amazing (and beautiful!) option. Another thing to take into consideration is where you and your guests will be flying from. It makes sense that the closer your destination, the cheaper it will be. Of course, that's not ALWAYS true, but usually. Hope this helps you a little. Good luck!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
