Great question, Claire!  I'm hoping someone has the answer to that.  I hadn't even thought of that!  Thanks for the compliment on the bags - they were a lot of fun to make, mostly because my mom and bridesmaids were there to help.  :)  Your shoes are gorgeous too!  You guys are making me rethink my barefoot sandals.  I should probably have a sexy backup in case!     ~Lauren

¡Hola chicas! ¿Cómo estáis?

Today I have received a mail from Vanessa. Suming up for those who not remember, last week I asked Vanessa for the possibility to make the party at the beach after our dinner. She has answered me that for that I would have to choose a new wedding package (the ones of Karen Bussen).

Last year I booked my wedding at Grand Palladium and there were 3 types of packages: the catholic one (for marrying at the small church on the resort), the Crystal one (you can still take a look at it on the website) and the Diamond.

My fiance and I chose the Diamond as it seemed for us the most complete. It is like the Crystal but includes more flower arragements and other details for the bride and groom (as strawberrys in the room that night, the ironing of my dress and suits, etc).

Another thing that we liked a lot of the Palladium weddings was the possibility to bring your own vendors from outside. So besides the photographer, cameraman, etc we also decided to contract to a flower shop in Playa del Carmen for more flower arragements on the beach marble gazebo,  centerpieces, etc...

Well, I toke a look to the new wedding packages just because we were interested in taking the beach party, and I wrote to Vanessa asking here more information as I had several doubts. She answered me that if you choose the new ones, it is not possible to change the colours or add any flowers. Vanessa was very clear in her email: you could not add the arragements you want with this packages.

So, I am a little sad about this because we thought that the beach party must be a very entertaining thing, but we prefer to have our flowers arragements that we really want.

And Vanessa has also explained me that the costs of the packages does not include the type of ceremony as the "older" ones. If you take a look at the website is said that the vow renewal has a cost of 300 usd, the legal wedding is 650 usd and the catholic one is 500 usd. So you have to add this cost to the price of each package.

I hope I had been clear (my English is so-so, lol).

About the wristsbands, I have not asked this to Vanessa yet but one Mexican bride that I met thourgh Tripadvisor told me that they kept them on the security box of the rooms and the next morning, everybody went directly to one of the receptions with the old one to obtain a new wristsbands.

I have a question girls, for what it is OOT bags? What does it mean "OOT". I discovered from your photo, MyTye, that is sth for the bridesmaid and/or maid of honor. Right?

In Spain we do not have bridesmaids or maid of honor in the weddings. I wanted to have them as I am marrying in America and I have discovered that this is not only typical on the States (as we saw here on the movies, lol) but from Canada to Chile... So one of my best friends that is coming to the wedding, is going to be the maid of honor as the other girls dont want to dress the same... But I am happy to have my friend as maid of honor! I am enjoying a lot with her thinking in original ideas, organizing things, etc  what an experience!

¡¡¡Un saludo chicas!!

And yes!! We are going to stay at Grand Palladium until August 19th. So of course if you want to meet us, it would be great!!

Ola Carlota!  First of all, again I think that your English is very good! I think your wedding will be wonderful and you have made all of the best choices based on what is important to you.  I know itâ€s not a private beach party, but did Vanessa tell you about the beach parties that they usually have if the weather is good each Friday night?  That might be something you can put together for your group too.  I also made the choice to go with some outside vendors and I think that the flowers you have will make your wedding special and unique – different from everyone elseâ€s.  J  It will be perfect!

An OOT bag means an "Out of Town" bag. I also had NO idea what it stood for when I first joined this forum.  Some brides who are getting married away from where they live normally (destination brides :)) will put together bags for their guests including in them things that may be useful during the time they spend away for the wedding. For example, in mine I am putting small things like lip balm with SPF, bandages for cuts and scrapes, aloe, candy, Sudoku or Word Search game books, a welcome booklet that has information about the week and a thank-you note for coming, towel clips to hold beach towels on chairs, a holder that the guests can use for their room key or their tip money, playing cards, gum..... little things like that, nothing too fancy. They are not a necessity at all - some people choose to do it and others do not. I thought it would be a nice touch.

For mine, I bought plain bags and I ironed on a simple design on the bags that are going to most of our guests. For the bridesmaids, maid of honour (my sister) and for my mom and Tyrel's mom I made a special design that I ironed on, but the bags will have a couple of different things in them, like the necklaces I got for the girls, and whatever gift I get for the parents - I haven't decided yet.   I hope that helps explain it a bit for you!

I do hope that I get to meet you!  Wouldnâ€t that be so crazy!?  You are leaving on the day of our wedding so I will make sure to post pictures here when we return.  Thank you for the advice from Trip Advisor about the bracelets.  That makes me feel better because I hadnâ€t even thought about how awkward that would look in pictures!

Two final things, hello to Heather from Ontario (my ‘home†forever) and omg Mikeycelle you are leaving like, tomorrow!!!!!  Best wishes to you I know you will be an absolutely beautiful bride!!  I canâ€t wait to see pictures and hear about how perfect your day was!!!  Congratulations and enjoy every second!

Thank you Carlota for all the information, it is very clear and your english is great!  It's a shame you can't have the beach party and also the flowers of your choice but I would definitely suggest thinking about MrsTye2be's suggestion of heading along to the resort white party with all your guests.  Although it won't be private it would be a nice welcome or leaving celebration before or after the weding.  Good for you on choosing to have a maid of honour as well, it means you'll have someone there to help you with anything that crops up o the day, and also to share your special moments with.  Thanks also for the info on wristbands, it's good to know we don't need to worry about those.

Good luck Maybride2013 and Mikeycelle, have a totally amazing time!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
