Jocy, good luck in DR! I decided to post this response to help others planning for CR.

First, know that Cala Luna is tied up in a legal battle of owners. The place is closed down. Great place for weddings, we miss it. Cala Luna Point though, is still a great location for a wedding. Here's the last one we did. They stayed right next door to Cala Luna at Villa Marrakech:

Punta Islita is a phenom place for weddings. The service is top notch in CR. The hotel is mountainside with a rancho/restaurant (Borrancho) down at the beach. Usually ceremonies & reception are on the lawn of Borrancho. The beach is a pebble beach and dark sand. If it is high tide you would have to go with the lawn area. You can also have your ceremony up top next to the main restaurant with amazing views. Here are a couple of weddings we've had:

Paradisus is set on a beautiful beach and are now back to doing weddings on the beach again.

I'd love to know where you and your guests are staying!

Vgeisler,

Flamingo Beach Resort will be an hour and 15 drive to Playas del Coco. We recently had a wedding at Ocotal beach Resort, some of the guests staying at Bahia Pez Vela (in Ocotal) and the reception at Pacifico Beach Club. Pacifico is a wonderful location, great food, classy looking place. Great, great service. There are other places in Ocotal worth considering. Villa Cascada is really nice.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
