So I am planning on getting married at Dreams in Cancun NOv 2009, but we can not set a date Untill After the Jan 2009 Because of when my FI gets to pick his vacation time. I am worried that there is not going to be any dates, I was going to send a letter to people we are inviting and give them a heads and let them know a formal save the date will follow do any of you know how many weddings they do in one day at dreams? Do you think that is enough time to book or should we think about moving it back?

We were going to get married in December, but bumped it to January due to FI's brother and not being able to request time until January 1st. Is there any chance your FI won't be able to get the time off, or does he just have to wait until January to put it in? Is there anyway he can write them a letter asking them for a specific week off WAY ahead of time? That way you could start your planning and not have to worry. If they absolutely won't make an exception and you aren't 100% sure he can get that specific time off, then I would try and bump it out a few more months. It's not a bad idea to do what you said and send out a "tenative STD" and let people know of the dates A.S.A.P. It will all work out no worries :)

I would maybe ask if they could hold the date for you until January, maybe you could just put a $100 deposit down to hold it, that's all i had to do at my resort. This way if you can't keep that date you wouldn't lose much or they may even let you move your deposit to another date as long as you stick with Dreams.

Dreams does multiple weddings in a day so i'm sure they would hold it for you. They could probably fill it easily if you canceled.

Oh and i would wait to do the STDs until your fi is sure he can get off. I think once you find out in January and you send STDs out right away that's plenty of time for your guests. For now i would maybe mention it to people by word of mouth that you are thinking about getting married on this date in November at Dreams.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
