Hey guys! I'm looking for advice. I am getting married Oct 08 at the Riu Palace in Cabo and I am trying to decided where to have the rehearsal dinner and reception. What have people done and enjoyed in the past? Do most people have a private rehearsal dinner and reception? Does anyone have any experience not doing a private rehearsal dinner and reception? Are there any pics of Riu weddings? I've searched and found a couple, but not a ton. Any advice or pics would be fantastic!! Thanks so much!!

Hey! I'm getting married april 30th.

I was planning my reception at Sunset Mona Lisa but have now decided on doing it at the hotel....If you can wait until then i will take pics for you. We are getting married at the gazebo over looking the ocean and i think we will have our dinner on the mexican terrace. We have a small guest list so it's easy. We are not planning on doing it private...I will let you know if i regret that or not. Not sure if you are getting a cake out side of the hotel?? I'am using Jennifer Hatton Of CAbo dessert diva. & for flowers i'am using Cabo flowers both are awesome to deal with!.

That would be AWESOME!!! I would really appreciate any pics you can send! I thought that the Riu kind of forced you to use their onsite vendors for flowers, cakes, etc?!?!? I'll definitely look into Jennifer Hatton though. I had a friend get married at the Riu in Cancun and she said that the cake was the worst she had ever had!! Thanks for all your help!! Are you getting nervous? April 30th is just around the corner!! How exciting!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
