Hi there, hope you don't mind me joining in but I am another ROR bride that has booked through Thomsons for my wedding. I am getting married on 22nd July, and going out 14th - 28th July.

I have to say I don't think that Thomsons have been the most helpful people! I was given my wedding date by Thomsons but told that everything else regarding knowing the wedding time and any extra's we wanted to book couldnt be done until we were out there.

After going on this forum I could see that people knew when they were getting married and had booked all the extra's, so I decided to contact the hotels wedding co-ordinator directly, who told me what time we were getting married (which we have since changed as they gave us 11am and we have extra guests arriving the evening before), we have booked extras like the steel band, evening reception, photographer etc. So I would say anything that you want go directly to Chandlyn, she has been a real star!

Do you know what you are doing about taking your dresses, are you able to take them on as hanging hand luggage?

Wishing you all the best for your weddings, I am so excited and am counting the days till I go xx

Hi its great to hear from another brit ROR bride!thewave.gif

My story is exactly the same as yours, if i hadn't found this site i too would be getting married at 11am (even though we asked for the 4pm slot). In the end Thomson did managed to re-arrange the correct time but on a different date.

Thomson also told me that any extras we wanted would have to be booked out there but we've also gone direct with Chandlyn to secure our bookings, restaurant etc.

I'm planning on taking my dress as hand luggage, but i'm placing it into a cabin size trolley case (if it fits!) I was told if i take it hanging they can't guarantee a space for it to hang and it would prob have to go in the overhead. We are allowed an extra suitcase though (in the hold) for the wedding dress but i'm going to fill that with extra clothes etc, lol!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
