Pros: Too many to name
Cons: We didn't stay long enough!

Our wedding was on November 5th 2012 at the Excellence Riviera Cancun Resort.  There were 37 people including us and we had a fantastic time!!

We upgraded to the Excellence Club and we thought it was worth it.  Nobody else that came with us did, and they had just as nice accommodations.   It was really nice for our wedding day, because we chose the beach gazebo for our ceremony and our room was right there.  We went with the Excellence of Love package and I thought that was just perfect for us.

Our ceremony location.

The only decorations I brought were some paper cones for the guests to throw rose petals, our center pieces which I will post a pic of later on in my review, and our wedding favors, (maracas) and our escort cards.

The flowers from the ceremony were moved into our reception to our head table.

We met with Gloria on our second day to give her our stuff and go over last minute decorations.  She was on top of things and really knows what she is doing.  We picked out our cake and picked some music choices for the ceremony.  It took about 10 minutes.  I had a few email conversations with her in the 6 months leading up to our arrival, but I wasn't too worried about the little details so I tried not to get too stressed out about things.  That was one of the reasons why we wanted a destination wedding---less planning to do!

One of our big expenses were our welcome bags.  We did a bag for each couple and one for each single person.  It was a bit of a pain taking them with us, I got held up in customs--bring your receipts!!!  I eventually got through, but bring your receipts and split up your stuff if you can.  I think they only let you bring in $300 worth of stuff per person.  Our welcome bags:

We included two bubba kegs from amazon, two koozies, a welcome postcard, two flip flop bottle openers, key card holders, and a medicine kit with advil, tums, pepto, emergen c, chapstick, aloe, sunblock, and washcloths. I  also gave all the girls a pashmina.  (Not pictured)  I ended up getting them at Gordmans for a really great price. The bag was from weddingchicks.com.

We didn't want to pay for anything extra like a private dinner for everyone, and we also didn't want to take up anymore time from everyone's vacation, so we met for drinks at the Martini bar for out Welcome party.  Then everyone just split up and went to dinner wherever they wanted.  We didn't have a formal rehearsal either, we just met up and had dinner as two large groups.  I can't say enough about the restaurants there!  The french place, the indian place and the mexican place were our favorites.  They were all really good though.  The Italian place was maybe the least favorite, but it was still pretty good.

On the day of the wedding, my DH went to his groomsmans room to hang out and I went to the spa with my girls.  I got my hair and makeup done by Elias, it was included in my package.  I came in with one picture and just told him to make it similar to that.  He did a great job!!  The makeup looked a little heavy, but I think it looks really great in the pictures.

After the spa we went back to the room, ordered some room service and just hung out with the girls.  I went to the spa at 11 because i wanted to make sure we had enough time for our 4pm ceremony.  We had plenty of time to relax and get ready.

Your pics look great! I am excited to be getting married at this hotel in April and only have decided to have 6 guests travel with us (immediate fam). May I ask what time your ceremony was at in Nov? Ours is at 4:30pm and I am hoping I will get enough sun for the pictures.
