  1. @@Bride2Be2017 We are back from our trip. It was a great time and where we stayed at the Grand Bahia was absolutely beautiful. I'll attach a bunch of photos from our resort and once we have some teasers from the wedding at Jewel Runaway Bay I can attach those as well for you <3 This is an outdoor reception space for weddings and events. Right by the water so you can stay nice and cool on those warm Jamaican nights. Great view for a romantic moment and a perfect backdrop for photos Where your wedding ceremony could be held Lots of green space for newlywed photos Another great backdrop for photos Check out more of the attached photos to see more of the resort
  2. @@Kass11Craig Welcome to our amazing community here at BDW!! We hope you find the plethora of resources informational and of assistance! We can agree with what @@vancouverpetunia had to say regarding the nickel and diming of resorts, and the overall additional fees that may be added to packages you're looking at, be it at Now Jade, Now Sapphire, or any other resorts along the Riviera Maya strip. The labour is certainly a deciding factor when it comes to additional costs, and should be seen as such. Just be sure to always ask for information in writing, as that will always be your reference point when discussing what is/isn't available. I am including a handful of photos from our time at Now Sapphire, as we absolutely ADORE working at that resort alongside the wedding coordinator Juan Carlos. I can only hope, and feel certain that I am not mistaken, that Now Jade has their own wedding coordinator and subsequent employees who match Juan Carlos' exuberant style and personality. If you have any questions along the way, please don't hesitate to ask us here, send a PM or an email to [email protected] Cheers! Jasmin & Matt
  3. @@bmillerick We're so sorry to hear of your setback and going back to the drawing boards when it comes to THE place for your wedding ceremony and reception. Conversely, we completely understand your need and desire to feel the magic when it comes to a decision, and going with your gut on this decision makes perfect sense. We have had the pleasure of photographing weddings at Adults Only, All-Inclusive locations in and around the Riviera Maya of Mexico, and would be more than happy to offer some suggestions based on our experiences. There is an adults-only portion with Grand Palladium, called the Royal Suites Yucatan. We were fortunate enough to photograph a couple there on their honeymoon, as well as be part of a wedding where the couple, in their mid-30s, had no desire to include kids in the background of their photos. She also wanted to wear heels and was adamant not to have her wedding with a beach setting, and Grand Palladium had a variation of options to choose from. Another great option would be Secrets Silversands or Secrets Maroma. While we haven't photographed a wedding there, we did have family visiting at Secrets Silversands and went to spend 2 days with them with day passes. It was so refreshing being away from kid zones and we loved the fact that all the staff was focused on ensuring the adults were enjoying themselves, with drinks, food or activities, but without the need to focus on keeping children pleased with constant activities. Hope this helps! We'll leave some inspiration from a variety of our portfolio, including photos from the couple who wanted an adults-only experience at Grand Palladium. Cheers! Jasmin & Matt
  4. @@MrsSLMP Hi Shakera! Welcome to the wonderful BDW forums! There's a plethora of information at your fingertips within this community. We're currently staying at the Gran Bahia Principe Jamaica (as I type this!), ready to photograph a wedding at the Jewel Runaway Bay resort this coming Saturday. We are absolutely in LOVE with Grand Bahia Jamaica. The grounds are meticulously clean and well kept, the staff has been more than pleasant, and your guests will enjoy the time they have on the resort. Your wedding day plans sound fabulous and we're so happy to hear that you're going to be able to welcome your fiancé's large Canadian family, as well as your Jamaican family, to your big day together!! We just wanted to mention briefly that we are always more than happy to travel to photograph weddings. If you have any questions at all about Gran Bahia since we're staying here, we are always more than happy to help answer them. If you would like photos from the wedding we're photographing this Saturday for some Jamaican wedding inspiration, we can be sure to post some upon our return. In the interim, feel free to peruse our portfolio of work on our site at http://www.jasminandmatt.com/portfolio/wedding/as well as our most recent teasers from weddings (ones that don't have highlights yet posted on our site) at http://client.jasminandmatt.com/guestlogin/testgallery/ Hope you enjoy everything that waits ahead with the planning process for your wedding! Cheers! Jasmin & Matt
  5. Hola @@laaron09 and welcome to the amazing Best Destination Wedding community. There are so many wonderful members and resources here, even though we may not have the answers you are looking for, someone on her certainly will. In the meantime we'll leave you with some inspiration from Noreen & Karim's beautiful wedding at Paradisus a few months ago. Cheers! <3
  6. @@Bride2Be2017 We will be in Runaway bay next week photographing a wedding at Jewel Runaway Bay (staying at the Grand Bahia a couple of KM away). If you're interested we could share some photos from our experience there and hopefully that you will give you an idea (at least from a photographers perspective) as to what might work for you in Runaway Bay compared to Negril. <3
  7. @@lisa1968 first and foremost we want to say congratulations on 10 years and going strong. We have been together as partners, both in life, love and business for just over 7 years now and we wouldn't have it any other way. We wish you the best of luck in all your adventures, where ever they take you (hopefully somewhere hot with beautiful beaches ) The Mayan Riviera offers a plethora of options for couples looking for a more private experience. The best example we can think of that is both private and all inclusive is at Grand Sunset Princess. We recently photographed Susan & Joanna's beautiful wedding there. They put the whole wedding together themselves, everything was done DIY with no assistance from the resort and they were so happy with their experience. http://www.jasminandmatt.com/portfolio/susan-joanna/ Please feel free to check out their gallery on our website for examples and inspiration and of course if you have any questions at all, do not hesitate to ask on here, via PM or email at jasminandmatt[@]gmail.com Cheers! <3
  8. Hola @@Natily We absolutely love all the suggestions and inspiration that other members have suggested. We wanted to make a couple of our own suggestions from our experience down in the beautiful Mayan Riviera. There are so many incredible locals for honeymoons here, endless beaches, incredible sunsets, ancient ruins and that is only the tip of the iceberg. We've attached some examples from past photo sessions we've done with couple's visiting the Mayan Riviera. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask, either on here or via PM or email @ [email protected] Cheers! <3
