  1. @@eirbear0915 It's too bad no one has responded to this because I'm interested, too! Based on the portfolio the resort photographer supplied on their website, I was not happy with what I saw, so I booked an outside vendor: Gilda Badillo. My wedding is April 28th, 2015 so when get my pictures back, I'll let you know what I thought about her and her work. (If I forget, then send me a PM here!) The biggest thing I liked about her was the price. She cuts her packages down by about $200 because she knows that the RIUs charge an outside vendor fee. AND she doesn't charge tax (which is 16% in Mexico!!) if you pay in cash/through PayPal! She only requires a $200 deposit to secure your date, and that goes towards your total package price. Shipping is also included in the package price (which the hotel charges an extra $60-$70 on TOP of your package fees)! It's a pretty great deal, if you ask me!
  2. Due to a SUPER boo-boo on our wedding planner's part, we were unable to secure the Don Julio Terrace for a private dinner and the beach location for the after party. After I was finished crying (I never thought I`d be one of those brides, but I guess I am!) I read over the alternative locations for after party. We are looking at Baja Norte. What I want to know is: 1) Is there a bar near this location? If so, we will forgo the open bar fees and just have guests get their own drinks. 2) Does anyone have pictures? I've done the Google image search and seen a few, but I'd like to see more if I can. I was initially turned off by this location because of the pool being so close, but then I saw some pictures of the pools at night, and it actually looks pretty gorgeous. 3) The alternative to Baja Norte is the Disco... but I've heard that it smells like tequila and vomit and it's VERY hot in there. Can anyone confirm/deny this? Again, any pictures of the disco would be appreciated! Thanks in advance, ladies! - A Super Stressed Out Bride-to-be!
  3. Hi BDW brides! This is a screen shot from the video my fiancé secretly took of our propsal on Grouse Mountain in Vancouver on Sunday, November 3rd, 2013. We got professional engagement photos done too, but this is my favourite one.
  4. Hello fellow brides to be! My name is Amanda and I have been engaged for 14 months and will be married on the 28th of April, 2015 at the RIU Palace Cabo San Lucas. I have so many stresses and so many questions and I am SO new to forums/boards that I don't really know where to start, so I hope I'm doing this right! (Please be patient with me!) I've been working with a complimentary wedding planner from Sunwing/Signature Vacations names Antoinette. She is very hard to get a hold of, but she's very knowledgeable when we communicate. So far, I have chosen the Royal Package (up to 20 guests, including the B&G), I have been in contact with the reverend and have planned out our ceremony (which will be on the beach). I'm now at the point where my wedding invitations have been sent and I'm waiting on the RSVPs to come in. We have a total of 32 confirmed, booked guests, with 28 maybes....so I really need those RSVPs to come back! My FI and I are set on the dinner location and reception location, but we were told that if we have over 40 guests, we have to pay for a private reception. We really don't want to do this, because according to their min/max capacity, the ONLY option we'd have for dinner is the Mexican Restaurant, and although we will be in Mexico, fajitas and bean burritos don't scream "wedding food"...we're wanting steak and lobster, which is why we initially chose the steakhouse....but this seems to be throwing a wrench in our plans. For the reception we're opting for renting out La Pascha, their discotheque. For $660USD it includes DJ and Open Bar, so we figured that's the best way to go....although, I can't seem to find any pictures or videos or anything posted from anyone who has had their reception at Pascha...so if any of you know where I can find this info or can speak of it first hand, I'd love to hear from you! I have a friend who got married last year at the Santa Fe and had her reception on the beach... I think that would be awesome! But kind of expensive, and we're trying not to go into too much debt from our wedding. There are so many little details to plan out and it's starting to stress me out! I opted for a DW to avoid having to make these little decisions...but it seems there's no escaping them, lol Anyway, I'll leave it at that, and hope to hear from you!
