  2. If you dont mind me asking what kind of pricing were you able to negotiate with Mannia? Don't worry I will never share with them what you've told me I'd just like to know how much wiggle room I potentially have as far as negotiating. They let you negotiate pricing directly related to your wedding package or just in general?
  3. @strwbsprkl How come you're paying $900 for the resort DJ? I was under the impression his services were $350 for 4 hours and an additional $125 per hour..how long are u booking him for? Are you renting anything additional? I am renting him from 6-10pm along with parquet flooring since I am having the reception on the beach. I don't know which size flooring I'm getting because that will depend on the number of guests but that will be anywhere from $350-$450. After 10pm I am planning on taking my guests to the hotel's disco. @@Mandiesue maybe that can be an option for you to entertain your guests. My friend got married there three years ago and that's what she did and they had a blast. As far as decorations and cake, I am hiring an outside vendor to take care of this for me. So if I dont have much cake or decorations advice that's why.
  4. @@Mandiesue I contacted DJ Mannia and I found it very expensive. I'm considering just using the hotel DJ with all of the music in different folders on a flash drive or something. This is what mannia offered me. If anyone negotiated anything better please let me know thanks! The price for DJ services is $ 990.00usd (from 1 to 80 people) (3-4 hours services) and includes: MC Professional DJ DJ Booth Sound System Wireless Microphone Robotic Lights Extra Hour $ 150.00usd
  5. @@Nursejazz Girl I just saw your site. Very informative and awesome photos. Also, I love you guys' story - definitely meant to be.
  6. @@Nursejazz Thanks so much for the info. I went to the HDC website and their photos look really pretty. I would love to see some of your photos if you dont mind. I'm sure they'll do a great job. @@Mandiesue I am doing something similar to nursejazz. I am using a dj for entertainment. I was going to go with the resort's DJ, but I'm not sure I'm so confident about him. Maybe I'll have a family member DJ - not sure. I am looking forward to nursejazz's reviews.
  7. What are you ladies doing about photos? I chose the ultimate package and it includes 50 photos and a video of the ceremony. I thought that would be enough, but it seems like a lot of brides buy the packages from tropical studios or hire another photographer and that can get very pricey.
  8. @@Mandiesue I am getting married on the 11th and will be there until the 14th.
  9. Hi Ladies I am also geting married at Dreams La Romana. The wedding is in April 2015. I totally agree that getting them to email you is extremely nerve wrecking and very worrying, but a friend of mine got married there last year (had same issues with communication) and her wedding was magical - so please dont be worried. Good luck to everyone - very excited to have found this forum and hearing your feedback!
