  1. we are using the trio for cocktail hour - wondering if i should go with the romantic trio or carribean trio? what did everyone else choose?
  2. I've been all over the place, too. i think i'm actually leaning towards pastels - even though they are not beachy at all really! i'm thinking grays, light blue and blush. that may change next week though
  3. @Sabes - just heard back from Jessica who said that including succulents in a bouquet would cost an upgrade fee (from my gold package) of $230-300. They apparently have to be imported, hence the cost. They are beautiful, though.
  4. @@HNeal - I was just talking to my friend Danielle Guido who mentioned her friend Heidi Neal just got married at this resort - and then I made the connection! so funny - i live in rhinebeck! i'm sure you will be posting a review but i'd love to pick your brain in person over a cocktail with Danielle soon! Small world!
  5. @@HNeal - thinking of you - have an amazing day on friday - CAN'T WAIT TO SEE PICS!
  6. @@karijean - may I ask how you handled tipping at the resort, as well as after your wedding?
  7. @@CancunTrish 75 guests - good for you!! and congratulations! Contrary to what some may think, the Lobster House is not hot - the ocean breeze provides a very consistent and welcomed breeze which is great for dancing guests, esp in October. I've heard the foyer gets warm (not sure of the capacity for that area) and I don't know much about Barcelona (sorry!). I guess it depends on what look you're going for and how much decorating you want to do. Have you thought about garibaldi square, outside? For me, I want to take advantage of the beach setting with minimal decorations and try to hold the ceremony on the beach gazebo, cocktail and reception at las olas and lobster house. I'm anticipating around 40 guests though, which those areas can accommodate. Although the pier is breathtaking, I've read that you can only sit 2 on each side (4 to an isle), which would give you like 15 isles - the ppl in the back may not have a great view. Also, the pier is great for photos so I'm taking advantage of it being vacant so we can get the pics we want after the ceremony. I would not suggest wearing heels in the sand - sounds like an accident waiting to happen. If you're deadset on wearing them, the garden gazebo may be a great choice! Hope this helps - rest assure, it will be amazing whatever you choose!
  8. @@HNeal - so exciting!! Can't wait to see pics! how much is the outside vendor fee for photographer, $400 or $500?
  9. @@Sabes44, we are having our cocktail hour at Las Olas - and, if the Lobster House isn't available, we'll hold the reception there, too. I've heard great things about it - it's perfect for a reception! and the ocean breeze helps so much!
  10. @@HNeal - your wedding is so soon!!! how are you feeling? have you been confirmed for the lobster house for your reception??
  11. Does anyone know how many people can fit comfortably at the X Lounge? I've seen some pics with couches and chairs and wondering if it would work for our welcome party (of about 35 guests)? thank you! kristin
  12. what is everyone's wedding day timing look like? how much time for hair/makup? and when do you have the photographer showing up/leaving? i think we'll go ahead with juan navarro but wondering how many hours i think i'll him him for. def want getting ready photos, ceremony, and some at the reception, but not sure we need him for the whole reception. so many others will be taking pictures throughout the night. thanks again so all of you ladies who provide info - this is such a helpful forum!
  13. @@HNeal - I know you are using Lucidum Photography - how much is your package?
  14. @@Sabes44 although not very beachy, I love pachelbel's canon in d so i'll walk down the isle to that. still undecided about prelude/processional songs though! i think we'll have michael franti's life is better with you as our recessonional. also curious if anyone has ever done a photo booth at their wedding here??
  15. Hi ladies! Wondering what songs you all have chosen for your ceremonies? @@HNeal - coming up soon, how exciting!!
  16. @@karijean - how was your wedding???? hope you are having a blast and cannot wait to hear about it!!
  17. hey girls! wondering what time everyone is having their ceremony / reception at? i have a 5pm ceremony on the beach, and i'm thinking it will only take around 20 mins - does cocktail start immediately after, or do guests have to wait until 6?
  18. I was planning on just playing music with my ipod (already making a playlist!) but I would be interested in finding out more about the guitarist or harpist! Do you know what they charge?
  19. what are you doing about music? Hiring DJ or using speakers? And what about photography?
  20. We are doing our ceremony on the beach gazebo, cocktail hour at los olas, and HOPEFULLY reception at the lobster house. However, Jessica said she could not confirm the Lobster House until 3 months before (in case it needs maintenance or something). I've read that the Foyer can be pretty hot?
