Hi! Ya, I haven't been on here for a while...kind of putting off the planning but it's sneaking up so I better get started! I'm getting excited! Have you made most of your decisions? What are you doing for music at the reception? I am thinking that to save money, we might just load up the ipod with music and do our own.

Great, thanks! This is helpful, now all I need to do is see if there is a GF cake option...even just a small one so we can cut it for the pictures etc, and everyone else can have the regular. Congrats on your upcoming wedding! I can't wait for ours this fall! We went through Luxe Destination Weddings, and Elizabeth there was amazing! I think it took less than a week to confirm our wedding date, once we had chosen the week that we wanted to go. We did have to do some switching of flights etc, because the date we chose didn't have flights that matched up well, and all the other wedding dates that week were booked up...plus she did some price matching for us which took some time for other airlines to get back to her...but all in all, once we chose our travel week she secured our date right away and then figured out flights afterward. I can't say enough about her, she was fantastic! She was able to secure our date without putting a deposit down while we were waiting to sort out flights that matched well, so hopefully your travel agent can do the same. I think the resort held our date (without a deposit) for about 2 weeks while the TA organized flights, then we had to pay the $500 to guarantee no one else could have our spot. Good luck!

We hired an outside photographer, for a few reasons... Getting great photos is really important to us, and something we are willing to spend a bit more of our budget on. When I was reading the fine print of the wedding package, the photos included stated something like "24 photos from the ceremony" so I took this as ceremony only, and not including the getting ready, recpetion, etc. This might not be the case (I didn't check with the wedding coordinator), but I just went ahead and booked an outsider anyways...but now I am worried, because I thought the fee for getting a non-guest onto the resort for the day was $65, not $300! I better check!! Also a question for all...any experience with ordering from Etsy? They have really awesome stuff for great prices, but I've never used them...are they reputable? Worth looking at?? Thanks!!

Hello Brides! I'm new to BDW, but we are getting married November 21st, 2014 at the Now Jade Any thoughts or suggestions on reception venues? We will be inviting 50 guests, but if only 20 or 30 show up, I don't want to have a huge reception room booked for dancing because I feel it would seem empty! Is there a disco or anything if we want to keep the party going afterwards, or if we just choose a restaurant for our reception dinner?
