  1. Hi, all! =D I was wondering....are there any Persian brides or anyone doing Persian ceremony in Cancun/RM? I am not Persian but my FI is half Persian, and I am so into the idea of doing Sofreh Aghd, but I have no idea how to do it in Cancun. I have seen some photos and videos of Sofreh Aghd in Cancun/RM, so I guess it is doable somehow, but how? Would there be any vendors that do it in Cancun? Or, should I bring some items from the US and just do it on my own? I'd appreciate any insight or input on this!
  2. Hi, Everyone I've been trying to search through the thread, but really can't find it. Riu Palace RM is my top 3 finalists, but I am having a hard time deciding. Does anyone know whether we have to pay the external vendor fee at Riu Palace RM, if I hire an outside photographer, and if so, how much it is? Thanks!!!
  3. Awww lauren and carlota!!! Thank you so much for cheering me up! I'd love to be a GP bride because I am in love with GP's garden gazebo. But more importantly u ladies are so cool, and people so cool like you are gonna be there, then yes I do want to hang out there too!!!! =D I will definitely do more research! Could any of you give me (or pm me) Vanessa's email? I sent an email to rocio and haven't heard back at all. I'd appreciate that!! And I will also pm carlota to join your FB. =D U ladies rock!
  4. Carlota, Awwwwww I see what you mean. I am so sorry to hear that. But, you should be so happy that there are so many people coming for you! I haven't started sending out invitations, and I have no idea how people's reaction would be like, so I am terrified that I would have only 5 guests or so. ;o; sob sob. I only hope I have some nice support like you have, Carlota I loooooooooooooooooooooooooooove loooooooooooooooove loooooooooooooove those t-shrits!!!!!! Best bride/MOH t-shirts EVER!!!!! I guess that I will not be a GP bride after all ;o; (so sad T_T), but I will be following up on you ladies!! Happy wedding!!! and congrats to all!
  5. Awwww, I really really love this thread. You ladies here are so nice!! Lauren, thank you so much! XD I can't do the Coco Bongo style party anymore, but my FI is younger than me (robbing the cradle), so I guess he has a tiny bit more party energy than I do. But, that was great information, thank you so much!! Carlota, XD hehehe you got it. It's actually our wedding theme title. That's how we will call our wedding, hehe. Regarding your friends, well, I understand it can hurt, but try not to take it personall. I think DW is complicated for guests, because it involves a significant amount of money, and people can act really weird in front of having to spend money. I would think that they said they would come to cheer you up, but maybe have money issues. At least, the fact that they are trying to give you presents seems like their gesture to express their affection towards you, since they cannot attend your wedding, b/c of lack of economic means. When I decided to do a DW, I promised myself that I would NOT offended by the people that cannot make it. Now now, about whether I would be a GP bride or not..... I just talked to the wedding sales person at GP, and I am sad, because it seems like GP wedding would be out of my budget .They gave me the Mexican wedding options where I have to buy out the whole 25 rooms, and the reception is at a great price but have no idea how many people would come. It could be 5 people or 50 but I really wouldn't know until they start paying the rooms, so I can't take this offer. And then the package options that are designed for 8 ppl, adding p/p rates for wedding and then, again p/p rates for dinner...... T_T It seems too much, because it would add up to a lot, unless I am understanding something wrong.
  6. Hi, Mikaela- I am just getting myself into this but I am not an expert in this, but reading BDW forums, I think I have seen both cases. I have seen brides that even have it written on their website: "If you do not stay at this resort, you will have to pay ___ priced day pass," and read other reviews that they asked guests to pay. Then, I have seen brides that just cover guest passes. But, in my opinion, it would really depend on who they are. If they are immediate family members, I would explain my budget situation and ask them whether they could afford their own guest passes. If they are friends, and some remote family members, I would just pay their guest passes, so that they don't think, "what? I fly all the way down here for her and she makes me pay entrance?!!" Or, if they are family members that really love me, and are there for me despite that they really can't afford trips, then, I would pay for them, too. H.
  7. Hi, all Wow, this thread is really cute! All are friends with each other, huh? I haven't decided my AI yet, but I am seriously considering to join you guys! So, I thought I would want to poke it a lil bit here Now now, if you could help me with these questions, I'd really really appreciate it. 1) I want to go with GP because of the crazy cute garden gazebo, but on the other hand my FI wants a really good night life, so he wants to stay resorts either in Cancun, or in Playacar centro. Could you share your thoughts on nightlife at GP? I see that there is even a disco open at night, but I don't know whether it is good enough to satisfy my FI and his crazy friends. My boy just wants to party with his friends, and he wants somewhat party atmosphere. XD Any thoughts? 2) In the same line of thought, have any of you thought of or done some organizations to take people to Coco Bongo, or some off-resort night life scenes? Would it be far and expensive? 3)Stalking all the threads, I have seen that some people got a really decent group deals at GP. Could you be kind enough to share with me some info on whether you made your group deals directly with GP or via TA? I would normally go with a TA, but I am wondering whether in case of GP, it is better to deal with the resort. ;o;Thank you all, and I will keep coming here! =D Happy planning everyone!!
  8. Awwwww, I just talked to the WC, and she says that the p/p fee is going to be $25, and rooms $190 in 2014! Has anyone gotten better quote than this? I am really interested in this place, but $190 is a bit on the higher side for my guests.
