  1. Hello - I am getting married in October and also live in NE - We only invited a few people to our DW so we want to do something for other people that we didn't invite but would love to share our wedding with. I am unsure of when we are going to do an AHR though. We come back from our HM in the beginning of November so I don't know if we will be up to planning something for the following weekend and then it gets into all the holidays. Also, like you mentioned the weather is always an issue that time of year. So for that reason I think I am going to plan for spring - anything further will seem just too far I think. As for ways to not spend too much - there is the obvious DIYing things like decor. Also, check places like craigslist for listing from people trying to get into specific fields ie: photography, baking/cake decorating, floral design, event planning, and so on. Be sure to meet them (more then once) and get some samples of work and any references they might have. If you can find someone that seems like a good fit it is a great way to save you money and give them work for their portfolios. Hope that helps
  2. No - I am going to have to get them made. I basically know what I want it to look like but haven't purchased anything yet. I love black diamonds - is it all black or a combo? My FI finally found one he really likes also - need to get him sized so I can order it. Actually, I am going to have one similar made but make it unique for just him - Once I know his size the jewelry will start making it. I am not telling him that I am doing this for him. I want him to see it for the first time when I put it on him - he will get one before hand but I will just figure a way to make sure it is something inexpensive. How is everything else going for you?
  3. I would also be interested if anyone had any input on this. LOL Which Resort are you getting married at JennaMarie?
  4. Welcome and Congrats!! I'm not much help with your desired location but you can find lots of info on here. Use the search bar to find things about specific resorts or the general area. When you are ready to start looking into details I am sure you will have no problem finding a lot of very useful information (if for some reason you can't don't hesitate to just ask!!)
  5. I sent my invites out last October. All my guest are booked. We are booked for our stay at the resort and finally got the Mr. to say yes to a cruise!! I finally got my dress a month or so ago. I was waiting for my mom to be able to come visit to go with me. We had a LONG day of looking but it was good because I found one I love. Projects I have been working on are little things mostly for my guest LOL I really need to stop doing things for them. My MOH (only bridesmaid) and I are going dress shopping in a couple of weeks for her. I guess the one big thing I need to decide on is Table decor. I know what I want it to look like in my head I just need to buckle down and get some mock ups going. I actually have to come up with two decors. One for my my Welcome Party Dinner and one for the Wedding Dinner. Oh and also need to find our wedding bands. This is proving to be a task. Do you ladies have your yet?
  6. Akkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk! LOL all is well here really... just trying to do at least one project a week so that I don't end up with too many at the end. How about you?!?
  7. Yay for another October Bride!
  8. That is the dated I wanted.. I love it!! Couldn't do it though because there are no Sunday weddings in St. Lucia ... I decided I wanted my location and settled for another date. Which I actually like now (but 10.12.14 is the best!) I finally bought my dress this past Sunday... so I say good here! How about you? (Sorry hit post too soon on my last reply)
  9. Mine is on a Wed. Because that is the Date I wanted - didn't really matter what day of the week it was to us Do whatever you want!!!
  10. Check out sites like Groupon - Living Social - Eversave - and others --- they always have travel deals... I have used them so I know they work!!! Maybe you can find one to Puerto Rico where you don't need a passport and flights are inexpensive!!
  11. Yeah some of the stuff is ridiculous. ... like you already have it and its just sitting in a warehouse (or wherever) does it need to be THAT much LOL
  12. Akk when you say 8 months I feel like its not going!! LOL but I think I'm okay How are you?!?!?

    Whoaa!

Ops. I also meant to add - for not getting overwhelmed with too much at the same time. Try making a list (or a few) and set priorities of what is most important. Break things up into task that can be done maybe each week or month... spreading things out makes a huge difference then trying to do it all at once!

Congrats and WELCOME! Have you thought about doing a wedding website? You can keep it up to date as your planning moves along. Once you get it up you can give it to all your potential guest and have them refer to it for answers to questions. Specially if you find a lot of people are asking the same question. You can also try creating a private facebook group that only those you invite to join can see. Then you can post Q&A sessions along with your progress on there.
  18. Hello there!! I am not much help with your location but I know there are a lot of brides on here that will be. Just wanted to say WELCOME
  19. By the time my wedding happens it will have been a 24 month process! I too have been very stress free.... I have a feeling now that I am less the 9 months that at some point I might feel a little stressed - but so far so good
  20. My actual date is 10.22.14 since the 12th didn't work out... this was really upsetting at first but I actually like my date a lot now! Mexico is a popular location so you should have no problem finding lots of good info from all the other brides on here! I'm getting married @ Sandals Halcyon in St. Lucia.
