  1. Marvin, just emailed me and told me that the beach palace has a $350 vendor fee day pass. I dont know what that means, but I'm going to ask. The reason why he can't drop them off at the lobby is because the type of flowers I want, come in some rental vases he has. As far as photography, one of my guests is a photographer so he is willing to take our pictures. Saves me money, and I totally trust him. I'm just wondering if anyone has had outside vendors, and if they had to pay for each vendor.

So I was assigned a Wedding Coordinator and she informed me that, I would have to pay $800 (which originally they had told me $500) PER vendor. Is this the case with anybody else? I'm working with Marvin, at Maya flora, but with the flowers I want, he said his team would have to be there to set them up, and I'm also looking to hire an outside DJ, since I here so many mixed reviews on JSAV. I don't wait to take a risk, but $1600 in vendor fee's is outrages.

  3. Rocio, just confirmed that I would  have to pay the vendor fee of $800.00 when originally she had quoted me $500.  Does anyone know or have a preferred vendor list? I'm trying to use Marvin for my flower arrangement, I heard that usually people meet him outside the hotel for the flowers but he told me that with the centerpieces that I want, his people would have to go in and set it up. Also, I'm looking to book an outside DJ since I have heard so many mixed reviews on the one the Beach Palace has.

  4. We decided to do a few "first look" photos before the ceremony, but even without I think there was enough time. The light at sunset is so beautiful! I cannot wait to get my professional photos back! I booked through a travel agent, we had direct flights! HI Nicole, We used Fine Art Studio, I had Fabrizio and Al for the wedding day and Fabrizio, Al and Diego for the Trash the Dress shoot. Here is the one pic they have posted on their facebook page: I cannot wait to see the rest!!!! LL Awesome to hear you are adding the GOBO, i was so happy i did! Honestly I booked some tours (with the resort credits) but i didnt end up going. I had so many friends and family there that I had such a good time hanging with everyone. But from what i heard from my guests the Isla Mujeres was good, not great. The Wet n Wild was pretty run down only has 6 slides, most cabbed back early bc they couldnt spend a whole day there. The swim with the dolphins is at Moon Palace and I heard it was good.  My mom did everyother tour imaginable and she seemed to like them all.. the ruins, chichenitza etc Quote: Thanks so much! The bridesmaid dresses are from Davids Bridal (you can only get this color in the states) I live in Canada so it was quite the ordeal. I have an extra dress new with tags (wrong size) for sale and my bridesmaids would be willing to sell as well if we had the sizes you needed. Let me know! Thank you RPc51! I had the monorgram made and sent it to JSAV, they made the gobo from this.
Congratulations ! You Look beautiful, so did you get your hair done at the salon? I'm glad they were able to accomadate u with the flowers during the ceremony. Was there a charge for that?
  5. Congratulations!!!! Sounds amazing! So what happens if you don't use all the resort credits? And did your guests think it was all worth it? Some of my guests are kinda freaked out about the price and since I have never even been to the hotel,I'm blinded going in. Do they have a place to eat Mexican food? I'm excited u mentioned ceviche. How many guests ended up going? How exciting- Congratulations once again

  6. Did anyone have to pay a deposit for their wedding ceremony if they chose the complimentary package?  I had to put down a $300 USD deposit and my travel agent said it was because my wedding day is on a Saturday....seemed weird but I got it in writing that the deposit will be used towards my final bill so i am not too concerned...just curious if anyone else had to do the same thing.  So strange how everything is so different for each bride! As for the contract dicussed in the posts above, my looks nothing like that either! too weird!!  I am trying not to think about all the differences in booking, it stresses me out a bit lol
What's weird is my wedding is on a Wednesday and they asked for a 250, deposit for our complimentary package. This is so annoying.
  7. Hi Ladies!  We just booked our wedding at BP for October 26, 2013!!! I have a quick question that I hope you can help me with. As we were reading through our group contract, we noticed a clause that essentially refers to a surcharge being applied to any "complimentary" private functions. There is no mention of what that "surcharge" would be and that has my guy a little, shall we say, down right worked up. :0) My guess is that the surcharge is reflective of local sales/service taxes for the function. But any clarification y'all can provide would be most appreciated!  Thanks a ton! And congratulations to all of you! Meg
I dont blame him, the only surcharge I have is the one if i use complimentary nights. So far, I would also like to know what other charges they would apply. I actually ended just taking my contract to a travel agent so she could help me. But please let me know
