  1. @@alicialo Hey im also getting married at MDC on May 3 2014. Im not sure if you found someone yet but im using the photographer Brian Nejedly. I have spoken to him several times and he is the nicest person. He sends me several photos of recent MDC weddings he has done and he loves his job which makes it a great experience for both of you. Check out his website http://www.briandesign.com/
  2. Hello again, I have a question for past MDC brides. Im getting a Steel Band for cocktail hour and DJ for reception but I was just going to provide my IPOD for the ceremony with the songs already ready. Who is in charge of handling the IPOD during the ceremony? I just want to make sure I dont need to hire the DJ for the ceremony as well if someone will already play music for me.
  3. HI @ KWANDCM I just came back from our site visit at Moon Dance Cliffs. The resort was beautiful. If it's your honeymoon you will more than likely be in the poinciana villa. I saw all rooms and villas during our stay and they were all nice and spacious. The staff is amazing and the food was good. It is a very quiet and private resort if you want alone time, this is the place. I also stayed at Iberostar Grand before and that was amazing as well. Good luck!
  4. Congrats @MsFaszion. I actually have another question for the Moon Dance Cliffs brides. Did anyone do a site visit before the wedding? Is so, did they comp your stay or did you have to pay for your room?
  5. Have any of the past brides got their makeup done with Rashel Edwards from Chasity Makeup Artistry? Was she able to do a trial?
  6. Have any previous brides set up a group dicount for flights. I would really like to get a discount rate for my guests but the airlines options are very limited.
  7. Im using Rashel Edwards from Chasity Airbrush Makeup Artistry. She is located in Kingston, Jamaica. Her reviews were great and her work is amazing.

  10. @Mocha Hontas So Kerry emailed me back yesterday saying that the fee for my makeup artist has been waived. (It better Be!) Kim from their Chicago office also called me and told me they were not going to charge me the fee. I asked her if this was a new fee they were trying to charge and she said yes for their 2014 rates. I also warned her that it might be a turn off for a lot of brides and they may take their business elsewhere. If I were you I would go on their website and print out a copy of their information brochure because that information is not in there yet. If you have already booked then you will prob be ok just make sure they dont try to get you as well.
  11. @LaraJo Oh trust me, I def am not accepting that. Kim tried to call me on Friday and say she thinks there is just confusing misleading information and seemed very flustered because she knew I wasnt going to stand for it. So Im just waiting to hear back from Kerry now. On the other hand, how long did it take you to receive your contract? I already booked my 20 room block and I just started giving Kerry the details of what I want.
  12. Hello Brides! I have been reading this thread for months and finally decided to post because an issue has come about. Im getting married at MDC on May 3, 2014 and am in the beginning stages of booking vendors and communicating with Kerry. One of her statements stood out- "PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT WE DO NOT ALLOW OFFSITE STYLIST/ MAKE-UP ARTIST ONSITE. IF YOU MUST HAVE AN OFFSITE STYLIST/ MAKE-UP ARTIST THEN A FEE OF $125 PLUS 10% TAX & 10% SERVICE CHARGE." I am pissed because I asked Kim if there was a fee for offsite vendors and she said no. Because of this I already booked my makeup artist Rashel Edwards. I refuse to pay a hidden fee on top of what im already paying for the service. This statement is not even included in their information brochure on the website so where is it coming from? I dont want to feel like im getting nickled and dimed. Have any past brides who used an offsite makeup stylist had this issue?
  13. Hi everyone! I have been reading this thread for months and I finally decided to respond because an issue has been brought up. I am getting married at MDC on May 3, 2014. I have been speaking with Kerry and her comment stuck out.. "PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT WE DO NOT ALLOW OFFSITE STYLIST/ MAKE-UP ARTIST ONSITE. IF YOU MUST HAVE AN OFFSITE STYLIST/ MAKE-UP ARTIST THEN A FEE OF $125 PLUS 10% TAX & 10% SERVICE CHARGE." Is anyone familiar with this policy. I am pissed because I specifically asked Kim if there was a fee for offsite vendors and she said no. This statement is also not included in any of the information brochures on the website so where is it coming from? I have already booked Rashel Edwards to do my makeup and there is no way I am paying an extra fee just to have her come and do it on top of the amount she charges. I really dont want to feel like they are trying to get over on me. Have any past brides used an offsite makeup artist and had to pay a fee?
