  1. Hi Katie, Diamond doesn't participate in the wedding planning for this resort from what they told me. They only handle the rooms and don't have any info outside of the wedding and food guides. I don't know why they have him as a contact person on the website when all he does is refer you to the resort anyway. Anyways! Lol do you feel like paying the extra $1k penalty plus the outside coordinator fee save you money in the long run? I've been stalking this place since 2011 and have 3 years worth of price lists so I've seen how much they've inflated a lot of their prices which in some cases is extreme. I'm projecting more like 30 guests. Living on the East coast, I'm not expecting too many people you be able to afford this type of trip but my heart is set on it. I love the chapel, the resort and the workers
  2. Hello ladies, I've somewhat decided to have my wedding at Cabo Azul resort and have been dealing with Georgina since about Christmas time. I initially planned the date for 11/12/13 but to give my guests more time to save and give us more time to pay I want to push it back to March 2014. For some reason, I feel like the resort is seriously cushioning the costs of some things. I spent a considerable amount of time on the phone with Georgina asking her tons of questions. The packages from the 2012 wedding guide no longer exist and the 2013 packages are for smaller groups that eat inside Javier's. You would not have a separate private reception, it's just dinner basically. I've been to the resort twice and am in love with El Corazon which is why I have my heart set on this venue but the costs have really thrown me for a loop. 3 color options for the table linens or it costs more?? The reason is to coordinate with the venue itself but I'm sure it's because it's what they have in their storage and not with an outside vendor so it's basically pocketed money. I tried to negotiate but that wasn't an option. You can only try and save costs through the extras like flowers, photo and video. I contacted one of the "preferred" photographer's directly and he was very responsive however insisted that I contact the resort directly for HIS prices. Another cost cushion perhaps?? I noticed at least one other bride is currently planning her wedding with them as well. How's the experience coming along?
