About DWB2B2014

  1. The lighting was fine. I did pay for some extras like the tiki torches and lanterns. It was beautiful. I was worried it was going to be too dark but they made sure it was perfect. Even added under table lights. They also have bright spotlights that they use to light up the area. Definitely not something to worry about.
  2. Its right by Puerto Morelos but thats not very entertaining. It's half way between Cancun and Playa Del Carmen. It take about half an hour to get to Playa Del Carmen and there is a ton to do there.
  3. I hired an outside photographer from cancun Dean Sanderson and he was great. We did have to pay the outside vendor fee. It was $150 but I think it was totally worth it. If you are using a package like Ultimate, you cannot get a credit for the photographer, only use him on whatever you want. I ended using him to shoot pictures at the cocktail hour of the guests.
  4. The pool is next to the gazebo so it is not the most private location but for me it didn't bother me at all. I thought that it would but I was so focused on our own stuff that I didn't even notice until the next day or at Desires when people pointed out how much they loved the wedding ceremony and congratulated us.
  5. They do provide adequete lighting, they won't leave you in the dark. But if you want something extra you have to pay for it. Like tiki torches, paper lanterns, etc
  6. 2 business days. We got there on Saturday and had our ceremony on Tuesday.
  7. Well the pool deck requires a minimum of 60 guests unless you want to pay the difference. I think if you talk to your wedding planner, if you don't want the beach they may give you another option as the party is really small. BTW, just emailed you the menu options. Let me know if you have questions.
  8. My wedding planner here told me. And I checked with customs. Only if they are fake and I could not find any decently priced fake starfish. Something about animals. Even if they are dead.
  9. I don't know how to post images on here so I will try pm'ing you. The image shows how close everything is and where south beach receptions are. The reception is included for 3 hours but only for up to 20 guests. You need to pay extra for all the additional people. I used the cocktail hour as credit towards the additional people.
  10. Wedding2014 - Thank you! I brought the charger to go under the centrepieces. They charged me $65 per centrepiece. Apparently you cannot bring starfish into Mexico so this was the best option. They were beautiful though. beccafries - The Gazebo is by the pool, then if you walk right down the path to the right of it is Barracudas bar, then if you want down the beach to the right that is where the reception was. All very close together so it worked really well. Yes the reception was included in the ultimate wedding package but only for 20 guests. You have to pay for all the extra people etc.
  11. Hello Everyone, I finally finished writing my review. If interested it is here: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/index.php?app=reviews&module=reviews&section=reviews&do=view&id=4333 Happy planning!
  12. Oh and one final comment of the reception. We decided to go with South Beach and loved it! It was so private and out of the way, I loved it. Almost everyone was barefoot. I did originally want the pool deck but happy we didn't go that route. It is beautiful and all and if you don't want to be on the sand then its a good alternative. It isn't really private though. Two of the restaurants overlook it and everyone watches and walks by on the beach. I know because of other weddings that week and we watched from Oceana. The whole resort is beautiful and it does have options for all types of wedding
  13. Hi All, I just finished my review of Dreams Riviera Cancun. We got married there 3 weeks ago and loved it! http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/index.php?app=reviews&module=reviews&section=reviews&do=view&id=4333 If interested.
  14. Well said! I guess I am going to have to write a review one of these days!
  15. South beach is on the side past Barracuda's bar. Not sure if this is the more secluded one but ti was definitely great for the reception. After seeing the pool deck receptions, I was so happy I decided not to do that. But it all depends if you want sand under your feet and privacy or not.
