  1. Invites won't be for awhile for me.. though I am working on them. I did recently send a newsletter type thing sharing our travel agents information and encouraging people to put down a deposit. I was in a weird in between the save the dates and invitations phase so this was cute and served its purpose!
That's exactly what we did too. I need to get on the ball of things though. Everyone has planned so much than I have haha I am making our own chair sashes...that's almost done....the std (and pamphlets with the info is done) what photographer are you all using? Are you guys doing a dj too?

Hey ladies!! When are you guys planning to send out your invites, and what will your RSVP dates be??

Honestly...I may skip the invites all together with this...I feel with our friends and family NO ONE will RSVP, so many people are not even taking putting a deposit down, who really want to go, which I am soooo nervous that the resort will be booked up or something...so far we didn't get the location we wanted for our reception, because it got booked up by the time the wedding coordinator got back to us (sooooo frustrating, but I can't let that bother me now haha) and our room that we wanted got booked up, but we put a deposit on it, so now this one can't get booked up haha that was totally our fault. I dropped the ball on that one. What all have you done so far? I feel like time is ticking down soooo fast...only 9 more months ladies (and gents, if there's any here yet) So I am still on the fence about the invites

I have three girls standing - 1 MOH and 2 BMs. The other color I was going to have the guys in is the Malibu color. But that has been kicked to the curb....like you said - too hard to get everything to match! Ugh!

And my dress is this one :) EEeee - I get so excited every time I see it :) Mine will be off white - it's so suttle though...you can hardly tell

EEPPPP!! that is so so exciting! I love those choices! I hope some of my bridesmaids will go haha I feel like so many people are backing out, that said they were coming, which is totally understandable. Hopefully I can just win the lotto and take everyone ;) Your dress is BEAUTIFUL! I can't wait to see pics of you in it!

  4. Well - now I am only doing purple. Having two colors was getting tough. Teal will still be in there - just not as much as I had originally. Planned. I just picked out my bridesmaids dresses too! David's Bridal - as much as I didn't want to - had just the perfect dress. Now it is onto shoes for the girls!
It is soooo hard doing two different colors! Not a lot of things come in both colors you want ugghh I would love to see your bridesmaids dresses and yours!! Congrats on the dress! How many girls are you having stand up?
  5. That word search looks fantastic! Thanks so much for the link. I was going to start looking but now I don't have to. Originally I thought of buying crossword books, but I think instead I will just throw some in inside the booklet I am going to make. I have decided, because of the cost of medicine here, that costco is going to be the best bet for pirces. I bought little baggies, 2 iin x 2in, and I am goin to fill them with advil, pepto tablets, immodium, etc and then print labels off for dosage and what they are. I found a fantastic buy on a mug at the dollar tree in Toronto. I am North of there so I actually have to order more then get someone to pick them up for me. They are a travel mug, 16 ounces, with a hole in the top big enough to fit a nice sized straw in.   I bought 12 bags (I only have 20 adults coming and 10 kids(kids bags I bought from the dollar store)) from dollar days online and sent them to my mother inlaw in arizona. I think the total on those after delivery was only 39.00 (they are two tone, big bags). I ordered some little things (sewing kits, propel juice mix, antibacterial ointment, wipes , blistex lip ointment, etc) from a place called minimus.biz.(the total was $28.00 whhich included shipping and I ordered about 15-30 of them each). I got 14 hand sanitizer at the dollar store for $7. And lotions (15) at zellers, when it was closing for $0.50 each Lanyards and the plastic cover things I got from...Specialist ID online. I ordered 23 badge holders with zippered tops and lanyards for 30.00 (including shipping) Thats about it I think :) Its fun shoppping for deals. If you want any pictures let me know.
Wow! I don't know how I missed that thread! You did great!! I need to get the ball rolling on this! I slacking big time. I saw on groupon there was a deal for vistaprint...if it's still there I have no idea! Thanks for some of the inspiration. I will post some pics of mine when I get it together!
  6. We asked if tequila terrace was available for our wedding well over a month ago for our reception..she just got back saying "sorry it's not" ummm maybe if you didn't wait for a month it would be lol her lack of communication is making me so frustrated, it's all good though, any one have any other good places to have a reception there? I guess the beach and beach terrace is available...I am pretty easy going and think I will go with the terrace...any pictures of past brides? Any experience? Thanks! I guess it shouldn't matter at all but it just is frustrating bc at the time I booked all the time slots were available for our date...and that's the time we requested the terrace, so I don't know what happened there. Hahaha okay I am over it.

For oot bags, I have started picking up things. I have the bags, mugs picked out, lanyard/pouches, and I think I am going to go grab lip balms today! Its fun!

Have you bought lots already? I am putting in almost all of the things that you mentioned to tristanc, except for the camera, coasters, sunscreen and oozies..i think. So I am going to do a hangover kit, snack kit, and some other general things thrown in.

How awesome!! Where are you getting your stuff at? I need to hit the dollar store and Costco and see what I can find there. I will post pics of my finds :) I also am making a little puzzle book that's all have to do with us and Mexico. I use: http://www.discoveryeducation.com/free-puzzlemaker/?CFID=249886&CFTOKEN=47680354# and make sure you push the little bubble "text" so you are able to copy and paste it on to word so you can completely customize the fonts and what not. :)

We are inviting 40 ppl and expect most to come. I am having a hard time figuring out what to do for the oot. But hoping inspiration strikes soon :)

What colors is everyone doing? We are going bright: purple and teal!

How fun! We almost were going to try to get married in the US...it makes things a little easier I am sure. That will be pretty! Love those colors...I haven't seen too many people post pictures of those colors yet! We are going to do Coral and Navy. I have seen lots of really interesting OOT bags. Have you been on orientaltrading.com? They have lots of little things and it may give you some ideas. I love the "oh sh*t kits" which include: aspirin, sunscreen, tips for a hangover, chapstick, pepto bismo, shout wipes, gum or altoids, and band aids, etc....I have seen some people put disposable cameras in theirs, cups, mugs, sewing kit, pen and paper, coozies, coasters, kleenex, bath poofs (that's what I call them LOL) Hope that helps a little!

Awesome, 25 is an ideal number in my eyes...We invited 137, and i'm freaking out a little bit. I know 40-50% wont come, but i'm still anxious thinking about it. And i'm stillllll getting pressure into inviting more people, lol, not happening!

I'm thinking of doing white/coral, or white/blush, with a vintage feel. Not sure exactly how i'm going to blend that in. I went dress shopping unexpectedly (i was in sweatpants, no makeup, and had my glasses on) with my mom a few weekends ago "just to look". My original plan was to pay this lady on Etsy to make a replica of the dress I thought I wanted. Well, once I got THE dress on I couldn't take it off and had to buy it. Ohhhh well, going to have to save money somewhere else.

I haven't really figured out any of the other details yet, though I'm trying to decide what I want to do for DIY centerpieces bc there is no way I'm paying >$200 per table. Sent my save the dates out friday!!!!!

How about you, how far into planning are you guys?!

Welcome!!   How is planning going?  Great to hear from another January bride :)

Awwww 25 is also my ideal number. I felt so bad doing a destination wedding at first, because I know some can't go, but we might have a little reception in Michigan (where some family and friends are) after we get back. Haha we invited a lot, and a lot we know for sure won't even come, but didn't want them to feel left out. I don't think I know 137 people hahahaha ;) ;)

I am so glad you found the dress you wanted. I just bought my dress on Saturday...eeeepppp I wasn't going to spend much on a gown because I wanted to do Trash the dress but I ended up falling in love with something too and had to get it...I agree with spending money elsewhere :) I tried on a lot of dresses and soooo knew this is what I had been looking for. Oh my gosh...the centerpieces are redonkulous!! I couldn't even believe it! We sent save the dates out today...oops :/ Are you doing invites?

  16. Oh awesome!! We might see you there :) We are only inviting about 25 people, I don't think all 25 will come though, actually I know they won't lol How about you? I think it's in the 80's in January, or that's what I have seen from other ladies on here! If you look at the live web cam on the website, there's people always swimming. I think the weather will be wonderful. It's all beginning to hit me and I am getting overwhelmed haha do you know any details yet? wedding colors? dress? etc?
