I did a site visit in June. They did not comp my room but I was given a free upgrade to one of their suites.

Thanks for the advice Cherina, I contacted Merrick and he has been amazingly nice and accommodating. Pretty sure we're going to go with him.

Don't be nervous! There are no words to describe how beautiful the resort is. I am sure you will love it!

Hi everyone! I am booked for a July 1st 2014 wedding at MDC, and I couldnt be more excited! My fiance and I visited Jamaica in June and fell in love with Moon Dance. For those of you who were unable to do a site visit- do not worry. The resort is STUNNING and the food was much better than the other resort we visited. I tried to book Sungold Photography but they are already booked for my date (crazy!) so we are looking into some other options. My fiance is a high school photography teacher so he is very picky about this aspect of wedding planning. As for transport- I hadn't thought of using an outside company but we are paying for our guests airport transfers. Using a tour company might actually be cheaper if you have a large number of guests arriving on the same flight- not a bad idea.

@jwed, Riu Montego Bay was not even on my radar until I stumbled upon your review. Your wedding looks absolutely beautiful! My fiance and I are in the early stages of planning and are hoping to do a site visit and June to decide on a venue. The Riu is one of our top 3. How many guests did you have? I really have my heart set on a full, private reception but dont want to be stuck paying a fortune.

Hey everyone! I am newly engaged and in the venue research phase of planning. I have been admiring MDC for ages, but I'm seriously stressing about cost and travel time. My fiance and I are planning to do a site visit in June- and we're probably going to check out MDC plus 2 in Montego Bay. Can any of you tell me about how long the ride is from the airport? Also, what is the average budget for those of you who are doing or have done a resort takeover?

About how much does Elite Media Concepts charge? My future hubby is a photography/videography teacher so he has really high standards. I tend to think the video isn't an area we should splurge on (I feel like we will watch it a few times and then forget about it). I would definitely rather spend more on photos than video.
