Here are my save the dates that I sent out this past May. I have typed up how to instructions...let me know if you are interested and I'll post them.
I had to make almost 100 of them and I couldn't find enough of the orange sheets of paper, so I made them in 2 color schemes. The colors for my wedding are Orange (mango), Fuschia (watermelon), and light blue (pool)
On the back of each "pass" I printed "This is not a valid voucher" but I don't have a picture of that.
Thanks for looking!
They look fantastic! Where did you get your cardstock?

I keep going back and forth about this myself! I can't decide if its worth the money to not have to take everything with you or not!
Jacki quoted me $6 per chair sash and $25-30 per table overlay. She also quoted me anywhere from $25 for a simple vase with limes and candles to over $150 per vase of flowers plus 11% tax. I wish I knew if I could get cheaper prices on good quality items in Playa Del Carmen!
I just hate the fact that everything that is not included in the package is sooo expensive! But that is the wedding business, I suppose!
Thanks for this breakdown...gives me an idea of what to expect.

I'm having the hardest time with WestJet right now..and wondering if anyone is getting the samething. They won't let me finalize without knowing exactly how many people in how many rooms...but how am I supposed to let people know the price and date and place...if they won't hold the rooms for me? Also...they're only giving us two weeks to put down our deposits...and not like they are giving us any upgrade/bonuses...so getting frustrated..anyone else?

We're also set on doing a travel mug for everyone - FI wants stainless steel, but I'm thinking plastic to keep weight down for flying. These we want personalized. I've emailed a guy off of ebay - forever 21, to see if he will do less than 50 because we only really need 30....we'll have to see what he says.
Then of course, I've been looking into travel size meds for the oh sh!t kits. (dramamine, tylenol, gravol, immodium, etc.) Can't find them anywhere.
Ideas??
Try dollar stores, they actually sell a lot of these items for $1

Unfortunately, this is one of two sections of my journal in which I do not have positive feedback. However, I thought it would be prudent to make other brides aware of our experience because I know that we were not the only couple who had a negative experience with these two companies.
We chose Flight Centre as a TA because I had previously travelled using them on several major international trips, and they had done a decent job and had gotten me very good prices for them. I was initially even more excited to use Flight Centre for our wedding planning because their Edmonton office was the head office for DW planning in Western Canada.
The initial consultation and resort search was fine, but after our guests and we had paid our deposits, our future interactions with them turned sour. Our primary TA went on maternity leave and failed to tell us- only after several unanswered emails did I decide to make a phone call to the office myself and was then told the news. Our primary TA lost information on some of our guests who were planning on staying a 2nd week in Mexico. The TA that took over emailed our group with my name spelled wrong on multiple occasions and kept writing my groom’s name as Mike (his name is Chris). She failed to respond to our guests’ inquiries on multiple occasions. They had promised us the honeymoon suite at our second resort (El Dorado Maroma), and it was only after multiple angry phone calls and emails that they begrudgingly gave it back to us. The list continues, but I’ll stop now.
Like I mentioned earlier, we met up with several other couples through our planning process that had similar experiences with Flight Centre. I am very disappointed in their service and will no longer use them in future travel planning.
This brings us to Sun Wing, the charter company through which Flight Centre booked our holiday. The positives: we were booked as Elite Plus (Our TA said this was included but we met another bride and groom that were charged an extra $100/person, so I don’t know if we paid for this or not), so we had a 30 kg per person allowance as well as a little extra leg room. Also an overhead compartment is saved for wedding dresses.
The negatives: On our return trip to Canada, we waited several hours in Cancun airport with the rumor the flight was going to be cancelled, and eventually it was. Flights are cancelled every day, but the large problem with Sun Wing was their lack of communication with their customers as well as their terrible customer service. No announcements were made, cancellations plans were not communicated, unfriendly staff, and the list continues. Barely an apology was made at bare minimum. We will try to avoid using Sun Wing’s services again the future if possible!
Thanks for the feedback on Flight center...I'm currently having issues and I'm just booking! Good to hear from others...as I may not book with them afterall..

I have read a few other reviews about buying them from Amols and no one has had any issues!
Thanks that's decently priced...I wonder if it would be easier to just buy them when we are down there (that way I won't have to carry them on the plane)

We had a group rate and it was good for 90 days. I missed the window to send out Save the Dates but as far as wording goes, just put your wedding date and place in there and your wedding website address. It's still pretty far out but it gives people the opportunity to book time off of work and save $$. I sent out my invites 8 months before my wedding and by the time guests received them, they had three months to put a deposit down to secure the group rate. There are still some guests that may come and if they book, they have the option of going through my travel agent to get a new rate because they missed the deadline or they can make their own arrangements. I think Save the Dates are more so to give people a heads up. A lot of times people will let you know their intentions right away. I hope this helps you out a bit. Check out the DIY STD thread and I'm sure you'll get some great wording ideas.... some people just do a magnet with the wedding date, location and perhaps the wedding website.
I'm booking for Canada, and my rates are changing every three as well... all my guests have to secure their deposite by March 20..
