What date have you chosen? We are getting married there April 19, 2014.

Hi Talicea. We have booked Azul Beach for our wedding on April 19th, 2014. We chose the resort after visiting there for the Brides Dress Rehearsal that Karisma offers. It is a lovely resort and the perfect size for our small group. Let me know if you have any questions and I can try to answer. Good luck with your planning.

Amanda, we asked the same question on our Air-Tran flight to Cancun and the flight attendant told us that they do not have closets on their planes, nor did we even see one. I would suggest using their cheap business class upgrade to make sure you get space.Flying with your wedding gown...... How did you past Brides handle this? I was told to take it on the plane as your carry on. I read on a blog that they do NOT count it as your "carry on" item. Does anyone have any more information about this? I contacted Air Tran to reserve "closet" space and received an automated response that they can't guarantee space in their closet to hang the dress. This is stressing me. LOL PLUS, I want to know if I can take another "carry on" besides my purse and dress? I can already see "Bridezilla" sprouted a head if they tell me I can lay it across my lap, if there isn't any closet space! LOL :hissyfit: -

Thank goodness I found Katrina and Amir Muslim of AprilTwentyFive on ETSY! They have made my STDs and invites and they are AMAZING! My STDs are luggage tag magnets- every one absolutely LOVED them (also i believe that I got the quote on them from another BDW bride so THANK YOU!!!) These were sent out in May or June 2012 in order to give everyone at least a year in advance notice to book!
We couldn't agree more. Katrina and Amir are great to work with and their quality is second to none. We are soooo happy we chose them as well.

This is an old thread, but I'm going to use the STD letter as a guide for ours.

Thanks for sharing. We are getting married next April and I can't wait to start on my OOT bags. This will definitely be included.

This helps sooo much. Thanks for posting.

I have not seen any info on the rehearsal dinner. We just started looking but I am so overwhelmed by everything. We also have two children daughters will be 7 and 3 in 2014 when we will be getting married. Thanks for any help. We really haven't created a budget yet because we have no clue what the round about we are looking at!!!! We will be having at most 35-40 people. I have been looking at this site for a awhile now and figured it was time for more to post something to get some more help. This site is awesome!!!
Nicole - Congrats on your wedding. We are getting married in April 2014 at Azul Beach. Since you mentioned that you have younger children and your guest list is 35-40 people, it sounds like Azul Beach would be perfect for you. If your budget allows, they offer a monthly "Dress Rehearsal" that allows you to visit the resort, sample the food, meet the wedding coordinators and view the wedding locations. We are leaving for our dress rehearsal this coming Thursday and can not wait. Good luck with your planning.

Past Azul Beach Brides....
We are going to Azul Beach for a Brides Dress Rehersal in a little under two weeks, and I'm sure they'll know the answer to this when we get down there, but my curiosity is killing me and my FI.
Does anyone know if AzB offers a light up dance floor for a possible outdoor reception we would like to plan? We have seen this in photos taken but can not find any information on them.
Thanks in advance,
Candace and Steve

Hello Stinah, how was your visit? We had to cancel because my FH came down with the flu on Wednesday. We're going to go down for the February dress rehersal hopefully.

We hope that our days are not booked solid, we want to enjoy some if the nice weather...lol.Hi CDC-SRW! We leave Thursday for Azul Beach Dress Rehearsal, I'm sure we'll see you there! The countdown is on! 2 days until we leave for our Dress Rehersal at Azul Beach. We are really excited. We talked to our TA who helped us with the booking and have arrangements to go visit Azul Fives and Azul Sensatori while we are there as well. Hopefully between the three, we'll finally be able to pick a resort for our 2014 wedding.

We are looking at invitation ideas, we like the passport book invitations- it really is such a great and cute idea for a destination wedding! If anyone has anyone particular sites that they suggest we are all ears!
We have our wedding website up as well for our guests, which tells everyone everything that they need to know for travel tips and passport info and where we will be holding the ceremony, times and dates. So it is pretty much spelled out for everyone, although it seems as though we still get the lagging, "where do we go for the info again" type of questions lol, but glad the wedding website is somewhat helpful. People just forget to go on it even though the wedding website address was on our STD's and sent to people's emails.
Any other advice on invitations or what everyone is planning on doing is so helpful and a great way to get ideas and have fun with all the planning!
Shellyanderic, we found a vendor on ETSY for passport wedding invitations called AprilTwentyFive. They are really nice and we think we are going to use them. We were going to try a DIY passport wedding invitation but my FI surprised my with samples and they look fantastic. You should check them out.

I found that it was just easier to pay the $30.00 fee to become a supporter. Then you get access to the attachments right away.

We have just confirmed that we are going to AzB on Jan 17-20th for the Brides Dress Rehersal. We are so excited.

My FI and I are planning to do OOT bags for our wedding as well. One thing we keep going back to is getting all the items down to Mexico with us and not costing an arm and a leg. (I've heard that there can only be $300 brought through customs).
Elissae, how are you planning on transporting all the items? Carry on plane or shipping to resort?
Everything you have done looks fabulous!

This is such a great idea! Thank you for sharing.

Wow, just love auto-correct on the iPhone. Guess I should use the preview function...

Still a no oboe here too. Would someone be do kind as to email to me? [email protected] Thanks!

The beach there is smaller than in some areas (they lost a lot of the beach a few years ago due to a hurricane). However the beach is beautiful, and the resort is stunning after being completely renovated about 2 years ago. The dress rehearsal is a great way for you to look at the property, taste the food, experience their fantastic service, and of course get away with your FI for a few days!
Murmel, thanks for the information. We've read on some reviews on Trip Advisor that people say to definitely book the remodeled rooms not the older rooms at Azul Beach, do you know at this time, have all rooms been remodeled or only some? Are there any other tips you could give for the property?

Our wedding was FANTASTIC, and I have no complaints about Azul Beach, so I certainly give it my endorsement!
Your flickr account answered many of our questions regarding the site and some layouts.
If you don't mind me asking, did you consider any other resorts before deciding on AzB? Did you go down for a site preview?

We are considering a AzB wedding for 2014 but we have a few concerns. The beach seems really small. Has anyone seen the beach wedding setup? We are considering doing the dress rehearsal visit to view the property. Has anyone done this? Is it worth it?

We are seriously considering AzB for our 2014 wedding, but I have a few concerns. The beach looks really small. Has anyone seen the beach wedding setup? Secondly, has anyone traveled down for the dress rehearsal that they offer for $399/couple? Is it worth it?

Hello Talicea, we are having our ceremony and reception both on the beach. When we visited for the dress rehearsal, the wedding that was taking place on Saturday was set up that way and we loved it. They put up a tent on the beach with a dance floor outside with a DJ. It was really cool.
Our planning is going a little slow right now. We only have 13 guests booked, but haven't sent out our official invites yet.
