MissJali - The presidential suite was an extra cost. We had to rent the room for the night of our wedding in order to use it for our reception. To us it was worth it as we did NOT want to have our reception in a ball room. Our destination wedding coordinator works with the WC from the resort quite often and was able to get the 2 night minimum waived for us so we just had to pay the one night fee. So looking forward to having our reception there.

Hey,
We have been very lucky so far. We hired a destination wedding coordinator who arranges all the major details with the resort and books all the travel for our guests. As of yet I haven't had to deal with the WCs at the resort. I have read many people saying they wait long times for responses. Our destination wedding coordinator is the best $300 we have spent on the wedding!!! We went with the Tangerine Sunset package with a ceremony on the beach.
Some people have been talking about the Bar Higuey and how they won't confirm until you pay or that they can move your reception. We actually booked the presidential suite for our reception and will have everything set up on the balcony (something that we are super excited about!!). I wasn't willing to have my reception in a ball room and didn't want to risk the reception being moved.
Disazaja - Did you have to pay for anything when you did your site visit, the food tasting, hair trial, anything like that?

Through our travel agent we discovered there is only one judge in the area and that is why you are given a time. We waited WEEKS to hear back from the judge with times that he could accommodate us. We liked none of them. If you go with a symbolic ceremony you can pick the time / date and the resort confirms that. Hope that helps a bit.

No, we looked at that date but don't fly in until the Sunday (the 10th) and were told that we would not be in the country soon enough. We are getting married the day after that on the 13th. Would have been cool though if we could have made that date work!

Since apparently they make up different prices and what it includeds for every bride- here is what my basic DJ was described...
He will have all his equipment, we have requested he play our iPod list mainly, he will do intros/first dance warnings/etc- all emcee stuff is included and the 800.00 is total for three hours with 236.00 quoted to add for an extra hour.
The fireworks- my best guess is on their fb page they have this beautiful picture of a couple while at their bar H reception and they are standing next to two "standing" fireworks.
Would you be able to send me the list of the 2013 extras and prices? I have only seen the pricing for the wedding packages. My email is [email protected]
Thank you!

The information here has been wondering! I'm wondering if anyone has price lists for extras or private receptions. The information from the resort doesn't include any additions or private reception areas except the ballroom. I can see from the pictures and reviews that people have had additions to their package and private reception areas other than the ballroom. How much is a cocktail hour? Also what are the menu options? Planning for November 2013 so trying to get an idea of how much prices are above the package options. Thanks!

Just wondering if anyone has a list of possible reception locations? When talking with our destination wedding coordinator she told us she has had brides have their receptions on the balcony of the presidential suites at various resorts. Of course I fell in love with this idea and am wondering if BBP has this as an option? Thanks!

The cost of the presidential suite was the cost of the room rental for that night. Like all rooms I think the cost fluctuates. Just search rooms on the BBPD website and if the suite is avaliable it will tell you the cost of the nightly rate. It is a bit pricey but we decided it was an idea that we fell in love with and would pay the extra cost for the reception site. Our plan is to stay in the presidential suite for our wedding night. Plus you get a butler included in the cost! Hope that helps!
