  1. AngeliniC - I need your email if you are wanting me to send you the centerpiece

llewald and tricia-m - I sent an email with the picture of the included centerpiece.

Tricia-m - we did the transfer for our deposit through our travel agent as she was the one working to set everything up with the resort and get our wedding booked.  There was no extra fee for that but we had paid her to take care of all the wedding set up and group travel bookings.

SoonMrsD - could you send me the list of extras please too!  My email is [email protected]

I have a few questions about some things... So the DJ, what are people doing? We were thinking of using the Ipod dock and just setting up the music in order on that. Can anyone send me an updated list of what the DJ options are?

Also, pictures and video, I'm so indecisive on what to do for those. I know I'm going to use TP because I have no one else who's a professional that I can bring or hire down there. I always watch people's videos on youtube and I love love loveee videos of people getting ready and the extra stuff people do with their video, but I don't know if they'll get what I want. That's why we were also going to have a girl video tape all of the girls getting ready and a guy for all of the guys getting ready.

How about the food... can we do buffet? I was thinking that might be the best option for people, but that also depends on how much that'll cost.

I just have no idea what I should be deciding or thinking about right now. Any help would be greatttt! Thanks and good luck to all the BBPD brides!!!

We are just setting up an ipod for our music.  There is a really neat app called Wedding DJ that I have on my i phone.  It lets you set up all the music you want for different parts of the wedding day.  So you would make your playlist for the cocktail hour and add it to that section then just have someone hit play.  Then you would add your first dance song and just hit that and it will play that song for you.  Saves someone searching for songs.  Hope that gives you another option.  I find the price of the DJ to be super expensive and we have a small group (23 right now) going and not many of those people are huge dancing people.  So for us i think it wouldn't be worth paying for the DJ.

  3. Just wondering if anyone has experience with anything other than round tables.  With the people who have decided to come I was thinking that one big table (a bunch of rectangular tables pushed together) would work better for our group.  I'm worried that the resort will only want to use round tables as that is what I have seen in all the pictures.  Thanks!

We are having our reception on the outside balcony of the presidential suite, it will be a private function.  There is additional cost for that though.  If you would like more information just let me know.  I don't know of any other outside balcony that could be used for dinner.  Some brides that have been there might be able to comment on if there would be something else that would suit what you are looking for.

I only have 3 BM and so I dont have enough bouquets to use as centerpieces but if I did I would surely use them. Definetly not being cheap its a great money saving idea and at $30 a head...um yea definetly adds up!!

Out of curiosity, Samantha, where are you from if you do not mind me asking? We are 2 hours outside Calgary too, and went with a local travel agent here, but really I should have thought to look in Calgary, since that is where most of us are flying out of.

    Hey,

My finance and I are living in Hanna.  So funny story, I had clicked on your link to your wedding website as I'm in the process of making ours.  I was looking through to get some ideas and came across your family/ wedding party page.  I actually curl with your parents!  Talked to them about it last night when we were at mixed curling.  Small world!!

  8. For our travel booking and coordination we hired a travel advisor who specializes in destination weddings out of Calgary.  It was the best decision we have made in terms of our wedding.  She finds all the travel prices and just forwards you the information then you decide which resort you would like to go with.  We originally met with her in person and talked about what we were looking for in a destination and a resort. We went through the travel brochures and talked about the different resorts / destinations.  She has been to most of the resorts and had some really good insight.  We picked 5 resorts and then she went and got group quotes from different companies.  I then received emails with all the information : price, how many people before you get a free person, dates, flights, upgrades, room categories ect.  Once we chose a resort she contacts the resort and makes the arrangements for the wedding date and time (and coordinates with the judge).  She will then set up a website with all your travel information for you.  Your guests simply contact her and she books all the travel for you.  Again I will repeat, the best $300 dollars we have spent on our wedding.  Her name is Tanja Walsh, and she works out of Calgary.  We live 2 hours outside of Calgary and she was willing to meet with us for our initial meeting at 7pm on a Friday night so we had time to get into the city.  I definitely recommend her for anyone looking to use a travel coordinator.  She even found us a later booking deadline than we were originally quoted to make booking easier for our guests.  Let me know if you have any other questions.  Tanja is awesome!!
