What are your thoughts about the beach ceremony- I am really concerned about privacy and beach onlookers. I have heard horror stories about rowdy crowds that ruined the ceremony.

    Let me know!

    Thanks

I'm doing a beach ceremony regardless, it was the whole idea of a destination wedding!! Our resort is a semi private area

Me too! I think I have enough people coming to my wedding who will take down an rowdy onlookers.... but I think for the most part, people have more respect than that. You may have a lot of watchers, but I really don't think anyone is going to be rude or obscene.

    CREATOR: gd-jpeg v1.0 (using IJG JPEG v62), quality = 90

Yup! I know I won't be able to use that many of them because of the CRAZY INSANE upcharge cost of them.... so I am using these, stargazer pink lilies and white roses. I will just use a few of these throughout, to keep my colour theme going.

Are they not just so beautiful? I have had a love affair with this flower for years. Even though they don't smell or anything, their beauty is just stunning. EVery year for my birthday, my parents get me a few stems woot.gif And then my cat eats them hahahaha cat.gif

Honestly, DO IT! It was the most memorable experience. Yes, it is always nice to see family/ etc..... but the bond you develop being away, just you two, is truly, truly, incredible!

I'm a production accountant and my FI is a producer, and my old boss was his accountant. One day I got a call from my old boss "I just met your future husband". After I rolled my eyes he convinced us to meet and go on a date...and we had a great time! 4 yrs later, the accountant is officiating our ceremony. :)

Favorite vacation: Cinque Terre, Italy. Must go if you haven't.

Favorite moment: fine. I'll say it. waking up and falling asleep perfectly snuggled within, like a cocoon.

You will get there! Keep posting! Trust me, you'll get there!

    Love your moment woot.gif

bunny_4.gif high school LOL We met in grade 9, but it took him until the end of grade 11 to convince me we should date.... then we broke up after 2 months, and he made me wait a whole month before allowing us to get back together. At first it was sooo weird for me to be dating my best friend, but when I broke up with him, instantly, I knew it was the biggest mistake of my life. But he made me work for it, to prove I was serious this time, and we have been together ever since! 10 years, and 10 months cat.gif

Easy... our 10th anniversary vacation to Puerto Vallarta.... yes, it was our engagement week as well. But that was after. the days leading up to our anniversary was just as incredible as the day itself. It was the first time we had ever gone on a true vacation, just the teo of us. We always went somewhere with family, or were in school and broke, or moving back to Mississauga, and adjusting to life back here (aka more $$$$$$$$$$$$), and always spending our money on everyone else but us. So the fact that we took the time, scrimped every single dollar we could and made our 10th anniversary a special occasion to us was amazing! Made all the more so with him proposing.... but it was by far the BEST vacation we had ever, ever, ever been on!

You're just a bit past half way! You'll get there soon! You just joined in March.... that's only 2 months and a bit of time to post! That's nothing! I didn't get to 150 until at least February.... and it's because it takes awhile to get comfortable posting, finding things to comment on and getting into the swing of it!

I found I increased my posting a lot by writing on newbie posts! Makes people feel welcome, and I know I felt great having people post on me threads :)

With my second I was worried about having the baby on the car because my first was so fast and just planned a home birth

Wow- I didn't realize how small of a town you came from! Wow, that would be pretty intense!

A home birth.... yikes. My city roots are showing- THAT terrifies me! hahaha But I can imagine how beautiful and intimate it would be.

  9. Love ALL OF IT!!!!

I too am having a long engagement... coming up on being engaged 10 months now, and still a LONG way to go!

Glad to hear it does go by fast, and I love how crafty you were! Your message in a bottle invites are spectacular! I can well imagine how much everyone loved them!

Congrats to you! Hope these next few weeks fly by... but the day of is slow, and you can remember it all!woot.gif

  10. grrr, sorry for the triple post! Posted from my phone and it kept coming up as if it didn't post!

Well, duh! Any crazy stories around either birth, or just at home and went into labour?

Hmm, funny enough I posted that and now I have to think about my favourite moment....

A few summer's ago, when we were still in university, we came home for a weekend and spent it downtown Toronto. We stayed in this cheap hotel that was the size of a closet, but we went to a Blue Jays game, and went to a play about zombies.... it was just two days, but it was amazing, to just get away the two of us. Away from school, away from our parents, and just do our thing- went out for dinner at some random restaurant, had breakfast at a Cora's where we sat outside on the sidewalk and ate, ordered in pizza at like 3 in the morning... it's just one of those times that sticks with me as awesome.

I'm still here! Haha. I feel like I check my subscriptions way too often ;)

Me too! I have just been away from this thread... because I have been hiding in my whole of gluttony and not caring!

But now I am emerging, much to the sad, sad, sad creeping up on the scale. May killed me... too much going on, not enough time to make healthy meals, so it was crap, after crap, after crap.....But that is changing this month! FI is getting a family gym membership through work, so we'll have that going for us..... plus, my mom bought me a gorgeous dress while she was in NY, and it's gorgeous. But it's an XL (granted, it is a TJ MAXX).... I know size shouldn't matter, but it is killing me a little that it isn't too big on me....

Also, there is NO WAY my dress will fit me being this size, sooooooo..... my bestie comes home from Calgary in a month- which means I have a month to lose about 15 pounds, to fit into the dress so she can see it!

I wish I was one of those people that didn't eat when they were stressed..... that would be just fantastic! But noooooooo I have to be a chip/cookie/ice cream monster in my sorrows haha.

You'll get there! The last 10 is the most agonizing! But once you reach about 3, suddenly you fly past 150 without realizing it! (or so my experience was....). I suddenly realized I had hit 150!
