  2. OOT bags This by far had to be one of my favorite projects. I literally had to control myself because every time I was out shopping and saw something cute I would think this would be a great addition to the bags. I had ordered jute totes and as I was going over what I had and needed I realized that my totes had not arrived. I contacted the company and was informed that the totes were on back order it would have been nice if they sent me an email or game my a call so I canceled the order and went out searching for bags. I went to several stores before finding bags at Michaels. http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/content/type/61/id/221439/width/350/height/700[/img] http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/content/type/61/id/221440/width/350/height/700[/img] This is what we put in the bags. http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/content/type/61/id/221441/width/350/height/700[/img] http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/content/type/61/id/221442/width/350/height/700[/img] I could not resist the room spray and I thought it was a nice touch that they were tropical scents. http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/content/type/61/id/221443/width/350/height/700[/img] We also included an itinerary. http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/content/type/61/id/221444/width/350/height/700[/img]

I say this because there were many stressful situations that took my focus off of the planning process. From my experience please do not let others drama overtake your priorities. I really don't think there is anything that I would change. I was a little disappointed that the beach club set up the ceremony in the sand when it was made clear that I did not want that. I also forget to use my parasol for pictures but that was not a big deal. One thing I do wish I had done was hire a videographer for the ceremony.

Only a few of us went to the French restaurant and truthfully I was not impressed so I did not even bother to try to set up a night where we would all meet there. Besides the breakfast in the mornings and the Japanese everyone did their own thing. I did not want them to think that they were obligated to spend all of their time with us and to be honest at time I just wanted to be away from everyone and just spend time with my husband. On the first night when our guest arrived after dinner we all went to the piano bar which a great spot for everyone to meet as they also have outside seating.

What were the hours of your ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception? 2. I saw your ceremony was on the beach and they did the chuppa for you. did you have the option to have one of those cabanas decorated or did they just do the chuppa that you had without you knowing? 3. at your reception, was there lighting in the pool (different colors)? i saw a picture with the pool lit up and wasn't sure if that was standard or maybe they had some vendor come in for lighting. 4. you said they didn't provide golf carts for your grandparents. i wonder if we can talk to someone in advance to have them transport guests in carts. 5. jan is doing my flowers, wedding coordination, and cake as well. did you provide jan with a picture of a cake you wanted? if so did it turn out well? i know your FI didn't like it, was it the taste or the presentation of the cake? 6. the original lady cheryl at seawind is no longer there, who were you communicating with in regards to seawind? sorry in advance for all the questions :-) can't wait to see your pics! Hey lady..... 1. The ceremony started around 4:30 and I think it was about thirty minutes maybe a few minutes longer. It was scorching after that tropical storm so it felt like time was moving slowly. The cocktail lasted for an hour after the ceremony. During that time we had the steel band which was worth the extra money. The reception was four hours. I believe it was from 6-10. Of course I did not have a watch on but we got back to the room around 10:15 so I am giving you an estimate of the time. 2. Jans flowers actually did the chuppa. We picked it from her book and told her what we wanted to keep and or change. I did not ask about the cabana as I wanted the hanging crystals and my wedding planner suggested that we also get the chandelier which I totally loved. I have a picture from a friend where the Rev is touching the chandelier will post it for you so you can get a better look. 3.Yes the lighting for the pool was different colors. We did not request it they just did it. 4. My wedding planner had confirmed with Seawind and the resort about the golf carts. They agreed to it but they changed it at the last minute and said they would only send one for the bride. After my husband walked over they told him they were going to send one for him too but hello it was to late for that he was already there. My planner was highly upset when I called her when we got back to inform her of the mishap. I actually gave her a list of things that they need to work on as she has another client getting married there in December and maybe they can avoid some of these mishaps. 5. I provided Jans with a picture of the cake. When I get a chance I will post a picture of it in my planning thread. My husband likes filling in his cake and I do not so I just had butter cream so thats why he probably did not like it but it tasted fine to me. They did a really nice job decorating the cake. I wanted bling around each layer and cascading flowers and they were able to do it. 6. Cislyn took over Cheryl's position. She was great to work with but like I stated earlier there seems to be a lack of communication between the resort and Seawinds. Just make sure you stay on top of them. And if you are bringing decorations make sure you provide a list for them because I did not get back my linen napkins or my napkin rings. I think they sent them back with Jans things. Of course if you have anymore questions don't hesitate to ask.
  7. My grandmother bought us this amazing candle. http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/content/type/61/id/219808/width/350/height/700[/img]

When we arrived we were upgraded to the Preferred Club which was a pleasant surprise and it gave us some privacy away from our guests. We had our wedding at the Seawind Beach Club which is next door to the spa. We had some bumps in the road prior to,our wedding but overall mostly everyone was helpful. There were communication issues between the resort and the club so if any of you ladies decide to get married at Seawind you have to stay on top of them as the beach club did not inform the resort that there would be a wedding and the resort gave my photographer a difficult time getting onto the property even though we were paying for a day pass. My MOH literally had to go to the lobby and speak to someone she and befriended to get Clayton in. The strange thing is they did not give my make-up artist Rashel any problems when she arrived they just called the Spa to let me know she was waiting for me. Sidebar: Rashel is so sweet and does a phenomenal job. She informed that Secrets does not like when outside vendors are used and Clayton also told me its one of the most difficult resorts for vendors to get into. As for the spa I went for a manicure, massage and to get my hair done (my stylist was supposed to travel with me and canceled at the last minute). For ladies with short hair cuts the stylist did a decent job but not what I am used to and that could be due to the fact that I am extremely picky when it comes to my hair. Well about an hour before the ceremony was to start there was a unexpected tropical storm. Thank God it didn't last very long but there was a little damage so they wedding started a little late because the club had to set everything back up. Now here is where things get a little tricky. My wedding planner had made arrangements for golf carts to pick up our guest a half hour before the wedding started however when my MOH called she was informed that the cart would only pick me up. What an inconvience and my husband and I both had our grandmothers there and after the storm it felt like the hottest day ever. Fortunately when the reception was over one of the staff was kind enough to drop our grandmothers back at the resort because wephen evening arrives there is no more golf cart service. When I arrived at the beach club I was pleased with how beautifully everything was decorated. Jan's flowers did a great job. Everything looked better than I expected. Her book does no justice for the work provided. My only issue was I did not want my ceremony on the beach and they were well aware of that but somehow that's where it was set up. Oh well it still turned out beautiful. For the cocktail hour we had the steel band. We took some group pictures so we were able to hear a few songs and they were awesome. We also, asked for a blue signature drink which they were able to provide and everyone said the appetizers were great. As for the dinner the food was delicious much better than the food served at the resort not to say the food isn't good there. I enjoyed the cake but my husband didn't. The cake was also provided by Jan's. I don't have any pictures yet only a few from our guest. Our photographer is going to be in NY in October and has promised to hand deliver them however I will post a few that I have. I'm also going to finally work on my planning thread. Better late than never....... I hope Clayton comes through for you in October with your photos. We married July 1st at Secrets using Rounald (WPA Jamaica.) Still have not been given the promised sneak peek and are going on our 11th week. >:? The agreement delivery time is 4-6 weeks. I'm so disappointed right now and have lost all excitement in even seeing our wedding pictures. And yes, I'm made my feelings know to Paula (SunGold) and to Rounald. Congratulations on your marriage!! May God Bless a new chapter/book of happiness, love and respect. I am so sorry that you have not received your pictures as of yet. What reason are they giving you for not sending out the pictures as of yet? That is truly ridiculous. I would be pissed. Keep me posted and let me know how things go as I will let you know if Clayton comes through for me.

My husband wants to have a get together when we get them for our friends/family that were unable to come.

I noticed on your invitations that you did a farwell brunch the morning after. How did you go about doing this? I inquired about it and was told that since we have 30 people a restaurant may not be able to accomodate us at one table and they don't take reservations so our option would be spending $200 for 20 people and $20 per person over 20 to do a group block at a restaurant. This just seemed ridiculous to me. I mean we are brining down 30 people and spending a lot of money on this wedding and they can't even give us a group block at a restaurant to say good-bye to our guests. Thanks! How exciting.....your wedding day will be here in a flash. In order for us to have meals together what we usually did was meet at the same time to be seated. We were there for a week so we became friendly with some of the staff in the restaurant in the morning. They were usually nice enough to pull tables together so that we could enjoy each others company and if we all could not sit together we were at least seated in the same area. When we went to the Japanese restaurant my friend called made two reservations 15 minutes apart so that all of us were seated around the same time for the Hibachi dinner. The only place that was not very accommodating was Blue Mountain. The hostess appeared a bit irritated when we arrived with a large group. She was able to sit us at three different tables none of which were that close together but we made it work. It is so not worth spending the extra money.
