If you have a small group, and do a semi-private recpetion, its included. But if you want a private reception, you'll have to pay extra for venue booking fees. depending on which reception place you book, some include the price of food and wine/beer (which I hear is horrible) with the venue fee. Some recpetion locations, you have to pay extra for food.

If you book the mexican resturant or the steakhouse resturant or the terraces of these resturants. Food is included in the venu fee. But Venue fee is about 1200 for a 6 pm -11 pm seating. So if you have another recpetion with a cheaper venue fee, it may work out to around the same.

According to my travel agent, Sante Fe is more party party while Palace is less hectic. Also if you go to the Palace you will have access to the Sante Fe as well, but if you book in the Sante Fe, you won't have access to the Palace.

Thanks! For the steakhouse do you remember if there is a bar close by? I don't really want to pay extra for an open bar but I hear there is a bar close enough that guests cna just walk there and pick up mixed drinks? I think they said wine and beer are included.

Hi Everyone! I am so excited! I just booked my wedding at the Riu Palace for Nov 22, 2013! Woho! I have a million questions and hope you don't find me annoying! I want to tap into all your wisdom/expereince It looks like from the site that they don't really talk to you about flowers and decoration and etc until 2 months prior which is fine. I am kind of lazy anyways lol. However, my questions is, do you not get to book off where your wedding is and your reception is until then as well? I think our travel agent just booked "beach wedding" so I am guessing I still have to confirm with Riu Palace if it's on the beach or if it's in the gazebo? Also, I am reading a lot on here about a private/semi private reception. We only have about 30 people coming....is there anything you ladies can recommend. I hear the steakhouse is too big to book off for a party our size? Do you ladies know about any other options for the reception? Thanks so much! Phoenix

Ohh I just confirmed for Riu Palace for November 22, 2013! Very exciting. Does anyone have emails for price sheets and etc for the packages? I want a private reception as well, but it looks like we'll only have about 20-30 people Wonder what options I have. Any advice would be awesome!
