  1. Yes most resorts you have a 'outside vendor' fee. You will need to ask your Wedding Coordinator about what that cost is. At the Majestic resorts it's $300USD
  2. Hey Maeghanql, not sure if you were inquiring about the outline that I had but if you are I just wanted you to know that is not a budget outline. It's just something to help keep ideas laid out in an easy organized fashion when planning. I will send it to you now but I just wanted you to know so that you are not disappointed Cheers.
  3. As long as you have heard back from Mayte regarding your date, you can pretty much bank on it being booked. Once Mayte confirmed my date I started sending out info and there was never a change. Maybe just confirm your date once more to be sure but after that (deposit or not) you can totally go for it and send out info to your guests.
  4. Hey Ladies, I was out of town for the past few days but am back. I did my best to e-mail everyone who asked for my "wedding outline" but just in case I missed anyone please message me. I really hopes it helps you wonderful brides because I know how hard it is to plan (seeing I got married at the Jellyfish last month with 70 guests) and since so many brides helped me during my time, I really want to be able to return the favour. The Jellyfish is beautiful and Mayte is a borderline Goddess with how well she manages to orchestrate the most wondrous day's of our lives! Despite me being anally organized and a bit of a worry-wart I had all faith in her the entire way.... her work speaks for itself. My advice to all of you in the planning stages is to not worry about every tiny detail because when the day finally comes those tiny details are hardly noticed. Focus on the bigger ideas. I created a planner for myself that is a bit detailed (as it's laid out in the order of events of a wedding) but allowed me to collect ideas over time and have things clearly laid out (including images) for Mayte. By doing this I did not have to email her more than twice over the entire planning stages because I was able do things in an organized fashion and allow myself time/space to collect questions as I went along. As my wedding date approached I sent Mayte one email with all of my questions. I strongly recommend using some sort of planner to help you and to keep a running log of questions that you have, on the side. Use other brides to gather info first and you will find that by the time you are ready to send in your final outline, you will only have a few questions left for Mayte. Have fun planning Sincerely, AR- DreamWedding

  14. Hey beautiful brides, I thought I would post the review I wrote for the photographer that we used for our wedding (Renaud from Photo Souvenir): Let me start by saying I am beyond grateful for every moment that was shared with Renaud, as it is because of him that I will forever be able to look back at our wedding and re-live each moment time and time again! My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Renaud for our July 15th, 2013 wedding at The Jellyfish. He is not only humbling to work with but managed to seamlessly catch every significant moment, and then some. After speaking with him, when we arrived in Punta Cana, I knew immediately that we had made the right choice. Renaud is very personable and attentive. He began with taking shots of myself and my bridesmaids getting ready, at our hotel (The Majestic Colonial) where he worked amongst a bunch of excited and overemotional women… that alone is a feat in itself J From there he met us at The Jellyfish where he caught our most meaningful moments: the touching first look with my father, our breath-taking ceremony, and our wonderful reception. He missed nothing ! He was hardly seen yet he caught everything. When the time came for directions to be given (i.e. large group shot, pictures with the bridal party, etc) Renaud was able to guide all 70 of our guests and our bridal party together to capture striking shots. The following day we did a Trash the Dress session and I can tell you that I have NEVER felt so beautiful! It was a wonderful bonding experience for my husband and I (and yes my dress is just fine J). Renaud was delightful to spend time with and did a brilliant job with our pictures. If there is anything that I can leave you with let it be this: Your pictures are all you have once the moment has passed and more than anything else you want someone who feels the way your do about your day, to capture every little detail; Though Renaud’s lenses I can see that he understood all of our overwhelming emotions because there is not a picture that I would trade for all the money in the world. Thank you Photo Souvenir. Thank you Renaud for being the wonderful you that you are. Wishing all of you happy couples many years of endless love. Sorry I couldn't add more photos... the program said I exceed the limit
  15. If you want I can email you the organizer I created for the wedding... Mayte said it was the most helpful and organized spread sheet that she had ever seen. It will definitely get you started. And whenever you have a question, there is space for you to write it at the bottom so that you can keep track of things you will want to ask later. Once you have filled out all the info you can then just send one big email to Mayte with all of your questions. Let me know if you want me to send it to you.
  16. We carried over $10,000 cash with us and split it between my parents (as you cannot travel with more than $5000 per person) the rest was paid on AMEX. However, another option that we could've done was just get an AMEX with a significant limit and pay the entire bill on it, then come home and pay it off right away. My dad ended up getting an AMEX just for this occasion and it was fine. He used it, paid it off when he got home and cut it up lol The only thing that you cannot use the AMEX for is the outside vendors that Mayte has to pay upfront (i.e. DJ, MC, fire dancers, florist, etc) and you should not need more than $5000 for that. We had 70 guests and the money that was required in cash did not exceed $5000... unless of course you are going to be using tons and tons and tons of fresh flowers.
  17. The $1500 includes all your decorations for the ceremony and the reception. However, if you have additional décor (i.e. flowers, fans, unique center pieces, etc) that you would like then bump it up to $2000 just to cover your bases. Trust me when I tell you that it is worth every cent! Matye does a phenomenal job.
  18. We had Pastor York do ours and the ceremony is closer to a half hour. He is amazing and definitely worth it. Everyone of our 70 guest raved about him when the ceremony was done. Hope this helps.
