  1. Not to worry Juliettesaa I just sent it to you and now you have my personal email so you can message me directly and always get a prompt response Happy Planning! AR-DreamWedding Hey Melodyw, I sent you the outline. Hopefully this helps you get your planning organized more easily. Happy Planning Hey Kellisbaby, I sent you the outline... hope your planning is going well Sincerely, Ar-DreamWedding Hey PuntaCanaBride 14, I have just sent you the outline... let me know if you need anything else Happy Planning, Ar-DreamWedding
  2. Like Wayne, I had a similar experience with La Barcaza and now that my wedding is over I am free to write reviews as I see fit without being bullied by them. When the change over of ownership was made I decided to write and welcome the new owners and find out if they would be upholding everything that was already agreed upon with the previous owners. Please not I had already sent over my $1000 deposit via Western Union and my invites with all the information for my wedding were already sent out. I was having a hard time hearing back from Daniel so I decided to just call him and when I did, I was very upset to find out that he (and his parents the owners) would not hold up things that were already agreed upon. Needless to say I asked for my deposit back and after two months of arguing with them they agreed to send me back half. In the end they sent me less than half and I had to change my entire wedding.... including venue and the date I was to be married. Because of Daniel (and his parents) I had many complications to my wedding planning process and with 6 months left before my date I had to change every single thing!!! Despite the beauty of having a boating excursion I would strongly recommend not using their services, as they are sub-par to what La Barcaza was previously upholding. To top it off Daniel's father is a crude man with very little people skills. Daniel is ok but he makes no decisions independently and is very disorganized. I thought I would share seeing as someone else had a similar experience and was being bullied into removing their post because they wanted to help prevent others from making a big mistake. There are many other wonderful boating companies in Punta Cana and again I strongly recommend you do your research and choose another boating company who has a better reputation. Warmest Regards, AR-DreamWedding
  3. Hey Kelz, I have sent you the wedding outline so hopefully it will help you to organize your plans. In addition, YES Mayte does do every single detail to the last drop (this includes hand making things) when it comes to the décor. I can personally attest to this as I have been to her home and know just how much she puts into each detail of every brides dream wedding. Happy Planning! AR-DreamWedding Hey Scott (PuntaCana2014a), I was unable to send you the outline as your email address was not written clearly.... wondering if you can re-send it to me. Warmest Wishes! AR-Dreamwedding
  4. Hey Heather82, Mayte does not make the Thank you notes that you see in pictures however, I will tell you that I was going to go through the trouble of making them and then realized that it would be a big waste of time because guests will not really appreciate them seeing as we were giving them wedding gifts at the rehearsal dinner. I did buy fans and what not to put on everyone's chair and when the night was said and done most people were so preoccupied with dancing/drinking that most people left the fans and/or anything else that was decorative and not their personal items. So with all of that said, I would recommend you save yourself the time/stress and not bother with them. Mayte makes the lovely menus and they serve as decoration enough for each plate. But this is totally up to you I am sending you the outline right now. Hope you have a wonderful New Year with your fiancé, full of nothing but love that will last you a lifetime AR-Dreamwedding
  5. So disregard what I wrote you prior... you need to send a deposit ASAP if you have not already. You could lose your date if you don't have a deposit made, as the calendar is now being managed by the owner of the Jellyfish and only dates that have a deposit paid are secure. Just sent it to you... sorry for the delay. Have you received a price list yet? Let me know and I will send it to you. There is only a 2013 pricelist that I am fairly sure will not change significantly in 2014. Please note that if you had sent me a message in my "Inbox" and I have not managed to reply, it's because your message has been deleted since the update on this website. Feel free to re-write me if you have any questions regarding the Jellyfish .

  11. Hey Ladies, Just wanted to put myself out there in case some of you have a ton of questions or just need some guidance. I am a personal friend of Mayte's and know just about everything there is to know regarding the JF. Whatever I do not know I will always direct you to Mayte or find out the answer to your question(s) when time permits. Mayte answers emails based on priority of your wedding dates and she truly does get over 100 emails a day! The busy season has already started and there are some weeks ahead where she has a wedding everyday... that means that she will have to balance arranging the wedding for that day from 8am until quite late at night (this does not include having to meet with each bride for their pre-meeting). So have patience, especially if your wedding is not until next year. She answers most of her mail based on how close your wedding date is.... the closer it is the more detailed her emails will be, otherwise expect short responses for the time being. With that said I don't mind helping wherever I can with whatever I can. Please feel free to use me as a resource I try to check this website every other day but if you want to reach me sooner just PM me and I will get it directly. Many of you have been asking me some amazing questions in my PM (private mail) that I am sure many others would love to hear the answer to as well, so I do suggest you write the more generic questions on the main page that way everyone can gain knowledge from the answers. I really enjoy giving back to everyone since everyone was here for me in my time of need Wishing all of you a wonderful time planning! Warmest Regards, AR-DreamWedding P.S: I also have a wedding outline that I created and used for my wedding that I am willing to share with anyone who thinks they may need some help organizing their thoughts. Just let me know if you need it!

I understand she's amazing and will make things work somehow but I would like to know that what I want as far as decor is possible or any other questions I may have. I would rather write one email with all my concerns in hopes to get a long reply back that way I won't have to bother her as often. I heard a while back of a spreadsheet that was going around and it seemed rather helpful to communicate all concerns to Mayte. Can someone forward this to me? Or recommend the best way to get all my answers from Mayte? My email is [email protected] Hey Dania97, I just sent you my wedding outline. I do hope it helps Let me know if you have any questions as I can answer just about anything regarding the Jellyfish. I try to check on here several times a week but if anything just PM and I will get it right away via my email. Happy Planning!

With the Crazy Hour you get all the entertainers you mentioned plus the Fire Show is included. I have heard of brides mentioning that there were buses ready and the older crowd leaving earlier. John (Jehison) is actually the MC and his English is very good. The DJ's name is DJ “McGiver†Jorge and he has just about every single song you can possibly think of... remember he has been there for years now and has done well over 500 weddings there. Just think of all the different kinds of music he would have downloaded... WOW If there is a song that is completely obscure and you are worried about him having it, I suggest that you download to your personal IPod and bring it with you OR write it in your plans for Mayte. She will pass it on to him and he will for sure have it downloaded for your special day. There is not much of a point to messaging John directly as he is under Mayte's instruction. I strongly suggest you avoid causing a conflict of interest by messaging him. Just put your list of songs in your plans for Mayte she will ensure it gets to the DJ as she sees him on every-other-day basis. Happy Planning All

Other than pay my deposit and confirm that they received the money (April/May-ish), I haven't planned anything with her! The only thing keeping me sane right now is AR-DreamWedding 's Jellyfish wedding template!! Thanks sooo much! So, I'm hoping you all can help me with some questions. Thanks in advance!! How tall is the wedding gazebo? I want to hang something paper cranes from it. Can you provide fans on the backs on chairs or do I have to buy them? Can I contact the DJ? I have some special requests - like asking him to provide microphones for my groomsmen, who are going to sing, play guitar and djembe for the bridesmaid processional. Does your florist make flower leis. If so, can you give me an idea of how much they cost per lei for different flowers? If I hire the baby sitter, how long does that person stay at my wedding? Can I get the fire dancers for 10 or 15 minutes? How much would it cost? (I think a 20 minute show might be too long a break in the festivities.) What is included in crazy hour? I've seen pictures of dancers, capoeira dancers, and a person on stilts. Do my guests interact with them or just watch the dancing? How many cigars does the cigar roller give me before I have to pay for extra? How much is it to have the cigar roller two or three hours? I have a small wedding and don't think I'd need him for four hours. Can you purchase small bottles of Mamajuana for me to use as wedding favors? If so, how much would 40 bottles cost? Can you purchase sky lanterns for me? (I can't take them with me on the plane because of the fuel cells.) How much would 40 cost? If we use an American Express card to pay, do we have to pay local tax? Is the only way to avoid that by paying cash? How many times can the bus take people back to the hotel after the wedding? More than one? Hey Miley929, Don't Stress!!! I tried to answer everything you asked and will get back to you on some of the things by the end of the week. 1. The Gazebo is tall enough for you to put cranes. You can either hang them in the back so that you and your fiancé are at the fore-front and they will be part of your background or you can put them above you. My husband is 6ft and there was still a good 2 ft above him. Just try to make the cranes fairly small (e.g. the size a hand) so that they don't take away from you and your finance's special moments. Remember it is windy on the beach so you may want to think about the cranes being blown around. 2. You will need to bring the fans yourself. I bought my silk fans from Michael's Craft Store and we had 70 guests. It cost me around $90 for all of them. BUT if I were you I would not bother with the fans because my guests had no idea they were able to use them (as they thought it was part of the décor) and my husband had to tell everyone to use them. In the end, most people left their fans because they were having so much fun and forgot all about them. Something to consider if it's worth the cost to you. 3. No need to contact the DJ. When you make your plans for Mayte ensure that you note that you will need 2 additional microphones and that you have people who will be performing. She will take care of it. When you see her in your pre-meeting you can explain the specifics and she will arrange everything to your liking. She is a perfectionist so I have no doubt that it will work out perfectly. 4. Mayte works closely with a trusted florist there and often does the bouquet arrangements herself! She manually painted some of my real flowers by hand to enhance the colour/detail of each petal. WOW, right? Feel free to send me a picture of what you are looking for and I will see if I can get you the information you need. Certain flowers are very expensive to get in the DR so it really depends on what kinds of flowers you are looking for. Be mindful that the flowers will die by the following day so it may not be worth the money to have real flower leis. Again, just send me a pic if you can of what you have in mind and if you know the specific names of the types of flowers that would be helpful too. FYI: Having real flowers can end up being the most costly thing in your wedding if you are not mindful.... remember flowers are not as readily available as they are in the US and Canada. 5. I am fairly positive that a babysitter will stay with the children for the duration that they are there.... which generally is not too late as they kids are exhausted by the time dinner is over. We had 11 children at our wedding ranging in from ages 2-14 yrs old and there was no need for a babysitter. The Jellyfish is so open that they can be seen at all times and usually end up playing with each other until they are so exhausted they just fall asleep in a lounge chair! 6. The 20 mins show goes by very quickly and is often a highlight for your guests, especially if you keep it a surprise. A 5 mins difference will not make or break anything in the grand scheme of things, honestly. The evening will move very fluidly and the MC is fabulous at guiding your guests throughout the night. Trust me when I say that anyone with a camera or cell phone will be so excited and film the whole fire show because it's stunning and brings everything to life. 7. The crazy show is very interactive with your guests! You can choose from various themes but the most popular is the Brazilian show which includes: dancers, capoeira (Brazilian fight dancers), a stilt man, confetti, masks, crazy dancers, and a fire show. So if you go with this option you will not need to have a separate fire show. 8. The cigar roller is the one thing I do not know much about but I can find out for you... let me know if you are serious about having one. What I do know is that they sell their cigars at your wedding and in my opinion that is kind of tacky. For the really good cigars most people just do the excursion that takes them to the cigar plant and the chocolate factory. I would think you are better off to buy some really good cigars at the factory when you get there or else buy them at the Duty Free and then just give them to the few people who you know would enjoy them. Totally up to you. 9. As for the Mamajuana it may be difficult to find small individual size bottles as the drink is made with a multitude of herbs that the rum and wine sit in and the locals don't generally sell it on street corners... it's more for us tourists. That means that access to them would come from places that cater to tourists hence they would be fairly expensive. Brugal is the Rum of the DR so you may want to try that as an alternative. I will check into the Mamajuana accessibility and get back to on this by the end of the week. Please PM me to remind me if I forget. 10. Ok so here is deal with skylanterns.... the Jellyfish is very windy because it is directly on the beach and quite often sky lanterns cannot be lit because of the wind. Mayte can get you some but note that they do not sell these in the DR so it will be whatever she has left over from other weddings. We wanted these too but after we were told about the wind factor we decide it was not worth it. I am glad we didn't bother because it was quite windy and there is no way I would've been able to get them lit. 11. The tax is only charged on the food and drink and whether you pay by AMEX or cash the tax must be paid. It is the law for all DR restaurants. All the vendor fees, restaurant rental, décor, etc do not have tax on them. 12. The bus holds 35 people and if your wedding is only 40 persons I would assume that it will probably make one early trip (usually the older people and people with kids get tired earlier) and one final trip at the end of your night. There is no additional charge for this. Note that the bus will not make a trip for just 5-6 people. If there are only a handful of people who want to leave early I suggest you use a cab (Mayte can call them when needed). Ok so I think I answered everything but let me know if I missed anything or if there is anything you want to know more about. Be careful not to get stuck on the tiny details because not only can you make yourself crazy but I can tell you that no one will notice whether you had fans, shells on every table, real flowers, what your aisle runner looked like, etc because the natural surroundings of the Jellyfish is breathtaking as is. Truth be told, until I looked at the photos of my wedding I had no idea just how beautiful it really was.... I wanted to Pintrest my own wedding, it was just that nice! LOL Also be mindful of the wind factor there. Oh, and I am VERY happy to know that you find my outline helpful! Feeling super special right now Warmest Regards, AR-DreamWedding

Also, if anyone has ordered off the jellyfish menu can they let me know what they ended up doing? (Side soup/salad then entree with side, etc) Thanks!!! Hey Mady28, So here is how is works.... You will get both entrees served prior to the main course, then your guests will be able to order 1 of the main course options on your wedding evening. Both sides are served with your main course. Your guests will be able to specify any allergies or health concerns they may have/require as their orders are being taken. Everything is made fresh and on the spot. As for appetizers, they are a totally separate thing. We had apps served prior to dinner, while we were having a our pictures taken. We choose enough pieces for each person to get one. You can choose your appetizers when you meet with Mayte at the pre-meeting, as you will get to taste everything.... including all the options for your main course. So make sure you go with a fairly empty stomach. You will also be able to taste all the welcome cocktails before you narrow your choice down to two drinks. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.
  18. Hey All, I wanted to let you all know that since Mayte's return she has been leaving the weddings a little earlier in order to maintain her health and stay rested. She generally leaves after your reception is well under way and I can guarantee that she will never leave you hanging or wanting for anything before she leaves. With that said it occurred to me that most of you will want to give her some sort of gratuity that is just for her however, that will not happen if you do not give it to her directly because others will pocket the money. So for those of you who do want to give her a little something for the zillion hours that she has put into all of our special days, I strongly recommend that you give it to her at your pre-meeting in a sealed envelope addressed to her. I gave her something extra at the end of our wedding in a sealed envelope addressed to her but now that I know she is trying so hard to stay healthy and cannot work the 18 hour days she used to, I thought it very important to make sure I share this info with you so that she can be appreciated the way she deserves to be. Warmest wishes to all of you! AR-DreamWedding
