  1. Hey ladies! Just got pics from my friend from our rehearsal dinner on the beach deck.. thought you might want to check it out!  We went minimal on decor, main purchase was renting strings of light from Zuniga. http://www.brandonmoffitt.com/2013/08/31/gene-amandas-rehearsal-dinner/?fb_comment_id=fbc_450827038364048_2248535_451053451674740#f39ed9bae5f47
    Awesome pics Amanda!!
  2. Did you have any issues with redeeming resort credits for spa or golf? :)
My sister and her family used their credits for the spa and a couple of excursions, my parents used theirs for a romantic lobster dinner on the beach. My husband and I had issues with our resort credits due to us staying less nights than originally planned. We used our credits for the spa and a photography session the day we left the resort.

I'm glad I could help :-) This really was one of the best experiences I've ever had... And if they could deal with me and all of my chaos and still assist me in bringing forth the vision for my day, I'm sure they will do the same for you. My parents have traveled all over the world and they both said they have never experienced the level of customer service and professionalism that they encountered at Playacar Palace. Your day will be great!

There were so many things I wanted to do that got cut bc I didn't really have much help planning my wedding. After my experience and a close friends wedding I went to this past weekend (I had inside info on what went wrong and it was similar issues I had with my wedding) I realized there is no wedding that goes off without a hitch. What's important is how you and your husband feel that day. I was so absorbed in the moment that the things that went wrong didn't really matter. After the fact however- yea they nagged at me lol

I absolutely know the feeling and I've looked back at pics and said "I wish...." Then I told myself, hey you wanna do it a little better next time then just renew your vows in a few years... I realized my husband and I make our own rules now and we can do what we please to our own liking... That in and of itself was sooo freeing :-)

  5. I recently got married and I used this dress as my 2nd wedding gown for the reception. Beautifully made and designed and still in excellent condition. It was a hit! :-) Dress was worn for less than 3 hours. Asking $500 OBO. Also selling accessories (shoes, jewelry, head jewelry if interested). Dress would be perfect for a wedding, prom, or any other formal event. Size 18, but of course that's formal size not street size. Also my ceremony gown was a Sottero as well and it was a size 14 just to put the size into perspective. Attached a size chart for this gown as well. Both dresses have a corset bodice which allows for you to easily lose or gain weight and still have a great fit. Description of the dress is below: Maggie Sottero P1630- paid $575 + tax and $75+ tax for alterations (no hemming needed, but they created a bustle for the train) Perfectly posh hi-lo dress by Flirt by Maggie Sottero The exquisite design of this strapless Flirt by Maggie Sottero P1630 hi-lo dress is sure to tickle you pink! Its sweetheart bodice boasts fine ruching and subtle vertical stripes. A lavishly embellished belt fits along the natural waistline. Bold, oversized ruffles tumble down the hi-lo skirt to add plenty of drama. ***Also selling my ceremony gown: Maggie Sottero "Adorae" in Ivory, size 14 with bubble hem. Wore for less than 1 hour, in perfect condition. Paid over $1400 for the dress with alterations. Asking $1000 OBO.

I'm 5'0 and wore 5" platform heels for the ceremony.

Description of the dress is below:
    Sottero "Adorae"
Fit and flare gown with sweetheart neckline and available with zipper or corset closure. Demir Stretch Satin provides sleek luster to this slender silhouette. Ruching envelopes the bodice and asymmetrically plummets below the waist, while the train pours into a gorgeous balloon hem.

We wore the same dress!!  Good thing you changed out of it, I sweat my buns off at the reception!!  Congratulations you looked beautiful!!!

Thanks chica! I looked at your pics and you looked better than the model Sottero used to sell the dress. Awesome photography and your body was truly made for that dress! I loved my dress but I got married outside overlooking the beach in Cancun, there was no way I was wearing that for more than 45 minutes tops! lol. I loved the 2nd dress, it was lightweight, easy to move in and I had them make a bustle though I didn't have to use it. Congrats to you newlywed! :-)

  8. You absolutely will as long as you make that the priority. Unfortunately I kind of prioritized my wedding last and the days, weeks, months leading up to my wedding I was juggling, work, school an internship, etc. My wedding planning was haphazard at best, we missed our planes two times prior to our wedding day, half of the things I wanted to do for my wedding were NOT done and the list goes on and on.... BUT that day was awesome, everything worked out and what wasn't done didn't matter. My advice is to make the marriage the number one priority (I'm a marriage and family therapist so that's always first lol), complete all planning that can be done and stop 30 days prior to the wedding. Whatever isn't done let it go and remember no one knows but you and everyone will have fun if you have fun. Enjoy!! :D

  9. The following message I posted to my June Playacar Palace Brides thread.

I used Photos In Cancun and to make a long story short I actually booked them the DAY OF o_0 . Thankfully they sent a a wonderful photographer and his assistant and they worked out something that fit our budget... The non-wedding pics are not their work, but they took all of the pics shown for the wedding and reception. Stuart was who they sent to do the work, but I worked everything out with Derek and he's AWESOME.

Hey guys haven't sent the photographer the edits I want to have done yet but I'm going to post a few pics of the wedding. It was awesome! :-) The following pics are of the resort (Playacar Palace), cocktail hour and rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony, reception and the photo shoot we did with our resort credits before we went to Secrets Silversands for our honeymoon. Epic wedding and honeymoon!! woot.gif

Hey there sorry so long to reply, this was at the Luna Lounge which I think is on the 5th floor overlooking the pool area. I'm not sure if it holds 60 or 100 people max. I loved it and the staff was excellent!

  13. My wedding was June 13th and for some crazy reason I went from being on this site almost daily to not logging on for months o_0. At any rate her are the pics of my dresses. I got one for the ceremony and a different dress for the reception and I'm selling both! woot.gif. The red Sottero is $500 OBO (wore less than 3 hours) and the ivory Sottero Adorae (wore less than 1 hour). Good luck and God bless on you guys who are prepping for your big day! msnwink.gif 700
