  1. The makeup artist at the resort are great! It comes with some of the packages. The cost for makeup was $50 for my bridesmaids and hair was $50 as well. They did a great job!
  2. We used fine art studios Mexico. They were amazing and I would recommend them to anyone. The quality of their work is amazing. We also did a trash the dress session with them. Check them out! http://www.fineartstudioblog.com Toni
  3. We sent vows to Jacki and the officiant read those. He was amazing. We had music for the wedding party then I walked down the isle to canon n d. After the ceremony we walked out o halo by beyonce. Our unity ceremony was a lock and key one. We had locks made that were engraved. We had a reading with that and we threw the keys into the ocean. We had two readings during the ceremony as well. I think it was just perfect! We had an ocean view room on the preferred level it's worth it. We were originally in a honeymoon suite with an ocean view. Jacki had us moved to the 7th floor and it was great. We had dinner the night before with the ladies only (24) and the guys had theirs (16) they don't charge us extra. We had three long tables next to each other at Portofino and the guys had two tables at ocean side. I didn't want to pay private function fees. We had the buffet for dinner and mix and matched from five menus. The food was amazing and everyone loved it. It's cheaper as well it's like $38per person over 20. We did the gold menu for the cocktail reception and it was delicious. Toni
  4. I also recommend doing a TTD session if possible. We had a blast doing it! Again we used Fine Art Studios. Toni
  5. I just got back from DPA! My wedding was perfect! Jacki was unbelievable and she took care of everything. We were going to have our reception on the beach after I read some of the El Patio reviews. Two weeks before the wedding Jacki told me that El Patio was available. We decided to wait to make a final decision until after we arrived at the resort. I am so glad we ate dinner the first night at El Patio , the place is beautiful. We met with Jacki the next day and booked it. We hired an outside vendor for our DJ and saved $$$$. The light up dance floor plus the DJ was $1200 and was totally worth it. The light up dance floor at the resort is $900 and the DJ is $220 plus 11% tax. We hired Fine Art Studios and that was the best decision. Their work is incredible and they were just fantastic to work with. We have seen three teaser photos and can't wait to get the rest. We selected the ultimate package and then opted for the buffet dinner. Having the buffet allowed more people time to dance and have fun vs the plated dinner. We had over 40 people at the wedding and wanted to have a good time and dance after dinner. We brought some decorations and Jacki had them set up. She took care of everything and made it so easy. El Patio was not too hot we opened the doors and windows and it was great. I hope this is helpful, please let me know if anyone has questions. Toni
  6. Thanks for the feedback. My wedding is September 1, 2013 and we are planning on using El Patio. The place looks amazing!! Thank you for suggesting to use the place longer, I had not thought of that. Do you have any pictures? Toni
  7. I have information from my travel agent. My travel agent has booked several weddings at the Moon Palace. He provided me with menus and pictures from other client's weddings. Ricardo from the sales department has been really responsive. I booked a DJ and my TA can call and gets immediate answers. I am so excited. We are going to use the lavender luxe package.
  8. I'm also getting married at the Moon Palace September 1, 2013!!
  9. I'm using enchanted honeymoons in Omaha. I usually book all my travel with AAA but they don't book weddings. The AAA agent wanted me to do all the work with the Moon Palace and then she wanted to book the travel for everyone. My agent Andy simply called his contact at the Moon Palace and had our wedding time booked. I had been trying to hear back from the wedding department for weeks before he called them. I couldn't believe how fast he was able to book it. My stress melted away. He also is able to get the menus for the reception. The wedding department has been calling me and they also email back within 24 hours. I'm working with Ricardo on the wedding plans. I say go with a travel agent it makes it easier.
  10. I finally heard from the moon palace last night. I didn't realize that they only had my travel agent's number. Now they have mine!! Ricardo called me last night and it was really nice talking to someone from the sales department who explained everything to me. He has been responding to my emails today too. I found the 2012 menu online and it looks great! I think we're going to use a ballroom for our reception.
  11. Hi ladies, I'm new to this board but excited to be part of it. I'm getting married at the Moon Palace in September 1, 2013. The only thing I know is my time is booked. It was really hard trying to book it on my own because they never got back to me. It was a little frustrating because all my TA had to do was call them and it was booked like nothing. I guess he books a lot of travel for them. I have a lot of questions. Has anyone used the new wedding packages? We want to use the lavender luxe. I'm trying to determine if I should have a reception indoors or on the terrace. Any suggestions? Thanks Toni
  12. We are going to get married at the Moon palace and we're bringing our own photographer. Our TA advised us to just say she is our cousin and let her take pictures. She's a guest at our wedding and will be staying at the resort for four nights to try to capture as many memories as possible. Since we are using one of the wedding packages we decided that we can't have too many pictures of our wedding!
