  1. Well I am planning on bringing an ipod docking statioon that goes really loud and finding a mic that will work with it for speeches...and she can try and shut it off haha...I will have my bridesmaids and mc gaurding it lol and she may get a bouquet shoved somewhere unpleasant haha!!!

  3. Does anyone know if you can bring your own music system? or do you have to use theirs? If theirs...anyone have pricing for that? I know the DJ is 488$ but I don't want a DJ...just speakers and a mic!

  6. Hey ladies, just wondering - how many in here are doing the symbolic ceremony? Are you getting married before or after? Right now I am booked for a civil wedding...but we wont find out the time of the ceremony until 2 weeks prior and it could end up being anywhere from 11am to 6pm...so i am considering getting married at home before - but my mom really wants me to do it "for real" in the DR but between the paper work and not knowing the time...I am really second guessing this!! thoughts?!?!

Hey ladies, This is the response I got from Marlene when I asked her why they could not give me a time for the wedding: please advised that de time of your wedding do not depend on me or the hotel, before booking and confirmed your wedding we clearly advised on this. your wedding will be confirmed by December 2012 by the judge agenda. I don’t know if your friends told you that in Punta Cana area we only have 1 judge for allll the hotels, so as you can undertand he is a very busy guy. What we have for sure is that we will married you on your date but we don’t know the time yet. So yea this is really frustarting. I am going to be soooo mad if they make me get married at 11am...what are we supposed to do all day when the dinner doesn't happen for 7 more hours ay 6:30... The symbolic weddings can happen at anytime which is why if you are having one of those you get the time confirmed. What I am trying to figure out is if any ladies in here are having a civil ceremony like me and has their time confirmed!!!
  9. I was told by Marlene that it is not up to her if you get upgraded - that's all decided at check in depending on availability. If anyone in here has a time and date confirmation for a civil ceremony could you e-mail it to me at [email protected] ? I am getting married with a civil ceremony on December 12, and I keep being told the time on the ceremony wont be decided on until about 2 weeks prior to the actual date. But all you ladies seem to know your times already and you're getting married in 2013...so I am sooo confused/frustrated!! Any help or advice would be appreciated here!!

  12. Awesome! Thanks for the e-mail JRM I just sent them an e-mail...hoping they have a good response!! I am worried because the WC keep telling me I won't know the time of my wedding until like 2 weeks prior...kind of makes it hard for the Spa to prepare seeing as how the wedding can happen anytime between 11 and 6...ugh so frustrating!!! I am going to be soooo incredibly angry if the wedding is any time before 2 pm...ideally I would like 4pm...so fingers crossed thats what I get!!
  13. JRM - thanks sooo much, this would be greatly appreciated!! Could you send me the link to where you are checking online for this?!?! I will e-mail with Lianny and see if this si something I should be doing on my own or through her! I did e-mail about paying the deposit in a month and she said that it was totally ok! I was impressed I received 2 e-mails from her in 1 day...pretty sure thats some sort of record haha!!! For those of you getting the Tangerine package (aka the most expensive one) I would make sure you double check how many guests are included in the dinner! I know the package states up to 35 guests for everything else, but on the wedding package info sent to me from the WC it states 3 hour private dinner (for up to 25 guests) so you may still be paying extra for anyone over 25...not 35....so just be care ful there!!!
  14. Disazaja, I tried booked the spa as my wedding is in December, and they told me the spa will only book up to a maximum of 1 month ahead of time! Not going to lie I am a little worried about this because if there is more than 1 wedding per day, and the weddings are close together in time...not too sure how the spa will handle multiple bridal parties and families....not too mention the bridal room...if there is only 1...how are they going to split it??? Heard back from Lianny this morning, and good news is that the chair sash's and table cloths are included in the price....but the silver plates are not and ar $3 a plate...which made me kind of laugh!! I am sure the plain white plates will be just fine haha!!! Does anyone know if once they give you the invoice if the deposit is due right away? I originally was going with the Min Breeze which didnt require a despoit, but now that I am doing the Starberry passion I have a 30% deposit due that I am not ready to pay right this second, so I am hoping they give a little bit of time to get it in!!!
  15. Hey ladies, Something to keep in mind with the day passes, they are only valid until 6pm, and if you wish to have the dj, photographer, or whoever stay after 6pm it's another 50$. I found this out because we have friends staying at a cheaper resort who want to come for the day, and for the 2 of them its going to cost $200 ($100 each) to be there for the wedding which is before 6pm and then for the dinner/reception which is obviously after 6pm.... Just something to keep in mind!!! Sunny, did you have the Strawberry package? Did you have ti pay extra for the table linens? I just got informed from Marlene that my new WC is Lianny - hoping to get quicker e-mail responses but I am sure that won't be happening!!
  16. Thanks disazaja and trivera! Does anyone know if there is an addiontal charge to have the table and chair linens with the Strawberry Passion Package? I absolutely love the 3rd table from the picture above (the one with the solide blue table cloth) and I know the center piece would be an additional charge...but I am wondering if the table set up like that would be included or extra! Does anyone have a pdf of extra costs they could send me in regards to the Strawberry package and decorating??! I e-mailed Marlene yesterday asking the same questiosn, will probably get an answer next month haha so thinking someone on here may be able to help me sooner!!!

Forgot to add this in: Below is an e-mail question I sent to Marlene, and her response is in Blue...is anyone else being told something like this for the timing for their wedding?!?!? i feel sooo frustrated about this situation!!! Any help/advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!! 2) I have some friends who are also getting married at your resort, and also having civil ceremonies and they already have their wedding times confirmed with the judge. How come they have their times confirmed, and they received the time they wanted, but I am being told I will get anywhere from 11-6 and I will not know until 2 weeks prior to my wedding?   18. hey Ladies!! Love all the pics getting posted - this forum feels like a life saver!!!! I love my FH but he so does not want to plan anything haha - so having you ladies makes me feel like I have a helping planning committee!! Quick question for you all: Anyone know of any place online, where I could find Photographers advertising their services at this resort? I know that was worded awkwardly..basically, i am trying to find out if there are going to be any photographers at the hotel the day I am getting married (December 12, 2012). I don't really want to use Tropical Photos from the resort - so I am hoping someone else is flying a photographer down that I could hire for my day to do our photos!! Any ideas or advice on where I could find this info would be greatly appreciated!!! Oh and in regards to my earlier post about how I had the Mint Breeze package and Marlene had said since my group had gotten to big for an a-la-carte that they would be putting us in a buffet. Finally heard back from marlene, and I was right, by buffet she means literally in one of the buffet restuants with all of the other hotel guests!!! So anyways, I have decided to upgrade my package to the STrawberry Passion one because I really do want that private dinner/reception!! Does anyone know is they charge extra to use one of the ball/banquet rooms...or is the extra charge just for the Bar Higuey/Beach?!?!?! Thanks!! Holly
  19. How were you able to confirm your wedding time? When i try to do that they tell me the timing is all based on the judge and that I won't get a time until about 2 weeks before my wedding date!!
  20. Hi Ladies! I am new to the forum, so I apologize if this is a repeat question! I am getting married at the BBPD on December 12, 2012 (12.12.12) and I am having some problems with booking our actual package. Originally we were going with the Mint Breeze package as our budget is not that big. And now our group is at about 50 guests and we are thinking the final number will be around 60 guests. Marlene told me since we are so many, they will be sticking us the a Buffet as an a-la-carte can't hold that many. I don't know about any of you but the idea of walking around a buffet in my wedding dress with all the other random hotel guests around is ridiculous!!! Not to mention I don't think it's overly fair the resort is almost penalizing me for bringing so many guests to it by moving us from an a-la-carte to a buffet! So my next thought was to upgrade our package to the "Strawberry passion" one were we would get a 3 hour dinner in a "ballroom". Going with this option increases the package price from $1650 to $2780. Which my fiance and I were willing to spend. But not Marlene is telling us since the package is only for 25 guests, any guests over would be an additional $50 per person! meaning the package would be $2780 plus $50x 35 more people making the package cost us $4530. Which is just way too much money in my opinion considering 1) All the guests coming to the wedding are guests and the resort, 2) we are only given 1 option for the dinner, 3) the hotel is all inclusive, I find it puzzling they want to charge me $50 more per person!!! Do any of you also have this problem, or perhaps any ideas on what I could do??? Thanks!! Holly
