  1. I was under the impression that you are not allowed to bring flowers, fruit, etc. back into the US from any foreign country. That includes wedding bouquets- my fiance's sister was married in Cabo san Lucas a couple years ago and wasn't allowed to bring the bouquet home.
  2. We plan to have an at home reception but something VERY simple and casual. Our plan is to rent out a pavilion at our local park and just have more of a party- bring in a casual catered meal, provide drinks, have some games, etc. Not a typical reception, just a celebration! It will only cost us around $1,000-$1,500- $250 to rent the space for the day with the rest being spent on food and drinks.
  3. You're doing such a great job with everything! I have a huge list of things I want to do but haven't had the time or energy to start...maybe your cute stuff will motivate me
  4. Feel free to take a look at our site for my wording...I basically just said we're not expecting gifts from anyone, but we will be setting up registries for showers. Here's the link if you're interested: www.weddingwire.com/ashleyandjustin2013
  5. Wow Chrystine, we basically do have the same plans!! I'm thinking about doing some sort of reception at the resort also because I feel like with as many people as we're going to have, we need to do something even if it is just music and dancing for a couple hours! Did you go with the resort DJ or DJ Mannia? MissBubbles, that's the problem I'm having too...I want to do something special for our guests, but we are also having an informal AHR so I don't want to go overboard. We're also looking at options for a welcome dinner type thing- I was thinking the buffet would be the easiest thing so people can come and go as they please. I will check with Michael and Phil also, thanks! By the way I saw your fans...so cute! May have to steal the ribbon wrapping idea
  6. Hi girls! I've been stalking these boards for what seems like forever now but I guess it's about time I get more involved! We are getting married on the beach (symbolic ceremony) at 4 p.m. on June 19, 2013. I was contemplating doing a private dinner but after sending out invites and starting to have people book, it's kind of out of the question for us now! We already have 52 guests and we're still 9 months out...way more than I ever thought we would have! It's a little stressful. Anyway, we booked a semi-private dinner at See & Sea at 6 p.m. Now we are trying to decide whether or not we should plan some sort of formal reception, or just have everyone meet at a bar afterward dinner. What is everyone else doing?? Also, does anyone have thoughts on the resort photogs? I really wanted Jamie Dmitry but he is not available on our date. I would love to know what everyone else has planned for photos!
  7. Hi, could someone please send me the information for reception pricing, etc.? Thanks so much! [email protected]
  8. Hey ladies! I've been stalking these boards for weeks now but can FINALLY add to the discussions- we've officially booked our date at ME for June 19, 2013. I couldn't be more excited! We're doing a 4 p.m. symbolic ceremony on the beach. For those of you who were married at ME or have similar future plans- what did you/are you going to do for a reception? We should have somewhere between 40-60 guests. I'm thinking about doing the free dinner, and then just hanging out at a bar or something until the disco opens, but don't know if there would be enough room to accommodate all of our guests! I really just don't want to pay the extra money for a private reception... Thoughts?!
