I believe you only have to pay the 30% to hold your reservation the rest of the money you can pay upon arrival of your wedding day. For example I'm paying the rest of the money when I arrive in September.

The family that is traveling from Santiago is renting a small bus for about 20 people...they are using a rent a car from Santiago Airport to transport them to Punta Cana. I haven't heard back from Susana and I still don't know if I'm confirmed for 6:00 pm...it sucks because people keep asking me questions and I can't give them a straight answer Do you know if the DJ has lights and a smoke machine ? I was also wondering if I could have the trio play at the Rehearsal Dinner instead of the ceremony ?

I'm still waiting to here back from Susana why does it take so long...I want the trio to play at the rehearsal dinner instead of the wedding but she doesn't answer my e-mails also did you book the DJ ? I wanted to hear a sample or see. video if possible of the DJ. :confused:

Hi yes I'm trying to have it at the Gazebo by the pool at 6:00 pm I saw it and I really liked the way it looks and then I'm trying to get my reception at one of the salons in the main building. Thanks! I'll see you then we will probably be the only two dressed in white

Sure! I'm still searching through agency's but as soon as I hear back from them I will let you know...on my visit I tried with Caribe Tours and Metro but since I only have about 30 people traveling from santiago and the capital, its not enough if you have 50 people probably you can get them to transport them...but I"m searching via agency's and I will keep you informed =) When is your wedding ?

They keep telling me upon availability...so I'm still waiting to hear back from them.

During my site visit I saw a wedding at the Gazebo and they had security so that no one from the resort would interrupt the ceremony. The resort wasn't that crowded but then again the place is huge. The resort is brand new, recently remodeled which is really nice. I saw Bar Higuey its nice but if you plan to do the wedding reception their tell your guests to wear very light clothing its super hot...well at least during my visit I was sweating while I walk around with Susana...Bar Higuey has a pool around it and Susana said that she has seen people get drunk and fall into it at weddings, but it looks really nice they also have salons all along the sides of Bar Higuey...but I'm interested in the Salons located in the main building they look newer and I like the decor better also its close to all but again I"m waiting to hear back on availability...everything seems to be a process with them...that is what I noticed =/ no straight forward answers my hubby was getting annoyed like okay can you please answer my questions with a positive answer instead of ooh we have to see upon availability etc...I was asking all kinds of questions but she kept saying don't worry when you come in September we will sit two days before and tighten everything up...but that was my reason for going this time...I hope it all works out in September...I have a webpage on Facebook I posted some pictures...your welcome to join...its jgwedding2012 or jgcorona I'll add you so you can check it out

Hi I just got back from DR and I visited the BBPD, I met Susana finally, she's nice =) and the resort is beautiful, I'm so excited about my wedding in September...but I wanted to ask you what time is your wedding, I'm trying to get mine to be at 6:00 pm because 4:00 pm is too hot to have the wedding on the beach =/ and the sun is still beeming...I also wanted to use the Gazebo. The reason I ask is because Susana kept she's not sure if its available...? Since we are both getting married the me day we should keep in touch to help each other out with info...etc

I'm sorry to hear that!!! Yea they should at least let you use the money towards the honeymoon...ask to speak to a manager or something It sucks to loose that kind of money...My wedding is in September coming soon at BBPD...and I'm visiting them in two weeks for a site visit...I'm meeting with Susana, hopefully I'll get most of my question's answered...I'll take pictures and get as much info as I can to share with the group.

Hi Natalie, I've been to BBPD before on vacation and I noticed that the Gazebo is right across from the pool area, I was going to choose this one but instead I'm doing a beach wedding because I feel like too many people are crossing behind the Gazebo its right in the middle of the resort and I also thought it might be too small for 35 to 40 which is what I have so far at least on the beach the space is wider. Thank you for the pics...but I think an outside wedding would be nicer because it will give the full effect of the tropical setting... Did they show you the outside options ? I have about 30 people attending...it's a small group so we could really do the ceremony just about anywhere maybe on a terrace or something ? Thanks!

I found it while I was navigating the Barcelo.com website, that is what I'm trying to figure out myself it seems like a registry where people can help you buy portions of your stay and wedding package, they put money towards your package etc...I'm still trying to figure it out myself...as soon as I find more info out I'll let you know too.

My family is from DR too, from Santiago & some from the Capital...the reason its 35 its due to the price of the flights and rooms =( I invited about 150 but not everyone was able to afford it or get off work. So this will be cool, okay I'll talk English when I go jeje...thank you for the advice...Have you met Susana ? I haven't even heard back from her and I e-mailed her a week ago.

I wrote to Susana a week ago and I haven't heard back from her...I almost wish I still had Marlene...but maybe Susana is new or something ? Yea I'm down to go and gang up on her jeje I chose the Strawberry Package so far I have about 30 guests confirmed but I'm probably going to need to upgrade to the Tangerine Package because I have feeling I'll be up to 35 people by September...I have a question where is your ceremony & reception going to be held ? I have mine set up for a Beach Ceremony and the Reception I'm still not sure she told me the Banquet Hall but I haven't even seen a picture of what it looks like or anything ? I rather have something outside like on a terrace or roof top... I must say I am excited and I look forward to it...I'm actually going to visit them in June to check out the resort and reception area's available. I can probably get a better idea of things once I go down their.

Hi Can someone give me a little bit of info my wedding is in September 2012 at Barcelo Bavaro Palace Deluxe, I really just want to know how the reception is set up etc...its a little difficult setting up the wedding from another country...but I've been e-mailing Marlene, which so far has been very helpful...I'm just trying to negotiate the room prices but she tells me its better to go with a travel agent...if anyone can share any info from their wedding this way I know what I need to prepare for etc. that would be great! Hi I'm having my wedding in September 2012 at Barcelo Bavaro Palace Deluxe...I would love to see how they set up the Reception Area, all I've received so far are the beach set up, but not the Reception area ? Also I booked the Strawberry Passion Package, does this include the DJ etc...I have so many questions, because when I e-mail them it takes them 2 to 3 days to get back to me =( and I want to make sure I don't miss anything...any information you can provide me would be great...pictures would be good to so I can get an idea of what to expect...and if you have any suggestions please feel free to tell me...Thank You!
